Megjegyzések:	Nurse sow management system refers to the utilization of nurse sows for nursing piglets from multiple litters ensuring maximization on quality weaned piglets. Practically, it entails the practice of prolonging the period during which a sow nurses piglets beyond the conventional weaning age. This study sought to evaluate the level of awareness and implementation of the nurse sow management strategy in pig farming in Kenya's Nakuru County. The Kenyan pig farming is highly characterized by smallholder farmers deriving their income from the sell of piglets and mature pigs. A poll of pig farmers who attended the Nakuru Agricultural Show in July 2023 was used for the research. A total of (n) 139 farmers were interviewed within 7 days of the show. The corresponding author interviewed the respondents in a face to face engagement where questions on nurse sow management were initially drafted in English language and translated in Kiswahili second language in Kenya. Results indicated that, the farmers came from two broad regions of the North (n) 76 (54.7%) & South (n) 63 (45.3%). Level of awareness and adoption was insignificant at P<0.05 among the two groups. Average level of awareness is as a result of farmers having formal ways of knowledge gaining through outlet media, extension seminars and public shows, however their adoption level is minimal due to being small scale farmers who have reduced herd & litter sizes. The survey was crucial in exposing hidden information that lays a foundation of stakeholder education to fill the gap of knowledge and practice by sensitizing farmers for increased productivity through increase of herd and litter sizes.
