Megjegyzések:There is little direct information about the effects of the abiotic stress factors such as low soil water content on the photosynthesis system of field crops. Some recent publications pay attention to this field of research. Water stress has significant effect on the yield and other agronomic parameters of maize. The aim of our work was to get more data about the relations between water supply and the assimilation parameters. The photosynthetic gas exchange parameters of maize are remarkably improved by nutrient supply in well watered conditions. The water stress through decreased stomatal conductance has significant negative effect on the assimilation parameters of the crops. The obtained results suggest that the water use efficiency of the maize is higher in dry conditions. In well water supply state maize uses up to 300 per cent more water for 1 g CO2 assimilation.

Megjegyzések:While we investigated the marigold's (Calendula officinalis L.) nutrient requirements in small-plot trial we measured the raw and the dry drug yield, which we harvested in 2015 from 6th July to 17th August and in 2016 from 16 th June to 1 th August weekly. Thanks to the multiple picking the data we got, we investigated the effect of the different fertilization settings the flower drug's changes over time. The drug crop's change over time could show how many times it is economical to harvest under different fertilization settings. We monitored the harvested marigold's drug's raw and dry mass on a weekly basis. It was concluded, based on the results, in 2015 the biggest raw drug crop in the N30P40K60 fertilization setting and in 2016 in the N75P100K150 setting were measured. Both the raw and the dry mass' measurements of the case, this fertilization settings have the most important effect on the herb's yield. In the measurements of active ingredients we used SPME and GC-MS. We examined the effects of the different fertilization settings for the herb's main active ingredients of essential oil's percentage.

Megjegyzések:Nowadays the aim of crop production is to realize the highest possible yield per production area unitby the highest possible crop safety. One of the possible ways for this is to increase of plant density or to decreaserow spacing. Therefore, the plant number per unit area can be increased and the potential yield loss of individualplants is compensated by the higher plant density.The development of yield amounts of eight different genotypes was investigated in a small-plot field experimentwith four replications on a calcareous chernozem soil type at the Látókép Research Site of the University ofDebrecen in the crop years 2013 and 2014. Row distances of 45 and 76 cm, just as plant densities of 50 000, 70000 and 90 000 plants per ha were set.Significant differences were found between the yield amounts of the studied hybrids in both studied crop years,while the effect of plant density on yield amount showed different results. In the crop year of 2013 the hybridsresulted high yields in the treatment with a row distance of 45 cm and plant density of 90 000 plants per ha,however, in 2014 significant yield decrease was found in comparison with the previous year, that can be attributedto the weather conditions in the months April-May and June.Optimal plant densities of hybrids, just as the corresponding expectable yield amounts were determined withquadratic equations. Optimal plant densities of the hybrids were different in the two studied crop years: in 2013,regarding the treatments set with the row distance of 45 cm, increasing plant densities resulted in higher yields,while in 2014, the yield showed decreasing tendency parallel to the increasing plant densities, that is confirmedby the fact that plant densities of 50 000 and 65 000 plants ha-1 proved to be more favourable. Regarding thetreatments with a row distance of 76 cm, hybrids obtained their yield maximums by 80 327 plants ha-1 in 2013,while in the vegetation of 2014, by higher plant density (85 845 plants ha-1).

Cím:The effect of different planting methods on the yield and spad readings of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) / Péter Pepó

Megjegyzések:A small-plot field experiment was established to examine the sweet potato variety Ásotthalmi 12 in the case of various planting methods on chernozem soil in 2017. The obtained experimental results showed that, by using appropriate agrotechnical solutions, sweet potato can be successfully grown with favourable yields also in Hungary (the marketable tuber yield was between 23.2-50.7 t ha-1). As opposed to bibliographical references, higher yields were obtained in flat planting than in ridge planting at both row spacing values - 1.0 m (32.2 t ha-1 and 23.2 t ha-1, respectively) and 0.75 m (50.7 t ha-1 and 39.4 t ha-1). The 0.75 m row spacing was more favourable than 1.0 m. The proportion of non-marketable tubers was also more favourable (lower) in flat planting (9.97-10.9%) than in ridge planting (13.03-15.57%). During the growing season, the SPAD readings of the sweet potato leaves increased between July and August, reaching their peak in mid-August (39.61-50.31). SPAD readings decreased until harvesting (38.89-43.31 on 7th October). Positive correlation was observed between the marketable tuber yield and SPAD readings on 10th July (0.632xx) and 21st July (0,664xx).

Megjegyzések:In conventional crop production the yield increasing was based on the huge industrial chemical inputs and new genotypes of cereals. This extreme external input use could modified the resilience, adaptive capacity and sustainability of different crop models. The effects of different crop management factors were studied in longterm experiments on chernozem soil in Eastern Hungary. The fertilizer responses of wheat varieties depended on the crop year (6.5-8.2 t ha-1 in 2011-2014 years) and the genotype (in 2012 the difference was 2.7 t ha-1 among genotypes). The optimum N(+PK) dose varied between 30-150 kg ha-1 in different crop years. The N-doses over optimum caused NO3-N accumulation in chernozem soil (from 32 mg kg-1 to 170 mg kg-1 ). In sustainable maize production the fertilization resulted high yield surpluses in average (2.0-4.1 t ha-1) and rainy (2.1-5.4 t ha-1) crop year in our long-term experiment (in 1986-2014 years). The yield increasing of irrigation were agronomically effective only in dry crop years (3.3-4.9 t ha-1) and they were very limited in average (1.2-1.3 t ha-1) and rainy (0-0.2 t ha-1) crop year (in 1986-2014 years) The optimum fertilization could improve WUE in maize production.

Megjegyzések:The plant density response of 12 maize hybrids was tested in a favourable year (2013) under optimum agrotechnical conditions on chernozem soil by applying plant densities of 50, 70 and 90 thousand plants ha-1. Due to the favourable ecological and agrotechnical conditions. Yields varied between 11400 and 16300 kg ha-1 depending upon the hybrid and the plant density. From among the hybrids, 5 and 7 produced the maximum yield at 70 and 90 thousand plants ha-1, respectively however the yield increment was not significant between 70 thousand plants ha-1 and 90 thousand plants ha-1. No relationship was found between the season length and the optimum plant density of hybrids. Those hybrids were the most favourable, which gave a stable high yield at different plant densities that is their optimum plant density range was wide (P 9175, P 9494, SY Afinity). Hybrids with a small optimum plant density range (P 9578, DKC 4490, PR 37N01) gave the highest yield at a specific plant density (70 thousand plants ha-1 or 90 thousand plants ha-1). A special complex coordinate system was developed for evaluation for the plant density response of maize genotypes specific ecological and agrotechnical conditions can be evaluated jointly.

Megjegyzések:In a long-term experiment, the fertilizer response of 10 maize hybrids of different genotypes was studied onchernozem soil in a favourable year. The yields of the hybrids varied between 9500 and 18600 kg ha-1 dependingupon the fertilizer treatment and the genotype. The excellent nutrient and water management of the chernozem soil was proved by the high yield (9500 - 14600 kg ha-1) obtained in the control. Even in such a good soil, the maizehybrids demanded fertilization and responded to it with a high yield increasement (3200 - 6500 kg ha-1). Fromamong the tested hybrids, 8 hybrids gave the highest yield in the N120+PK treatment, while 2 hybrids reached theirmaximum yield in the N150+PK fertilizer treatment (13500 - 18600 kg ha-1 depending upon the hybrid). The water30.35 kg mm-1, while it increased to 42.22 kg mm-1 at the optimum fertilizer dosage (N120+PK). The natural nutrientutilization ability (yield in the control treatment) and the yield obtained at the optimum fertilizer dosage (N120+PKand N150+PK) were used in a special coordinate system.

Megjegyzések:The yield and the phytopathological traits of seven sunflower hybrids were studied in two crop protection models with different input levels (extensive=without fungicide treatments, mid-tech=-two fungicide treatments) on chernozem soil in two different years (2012 and 2013). The experimental results proved that the level of infection by Diaporthe (64% in the extensive model, 38% in the mid-tech model as an average of the hybrids), Phoma (53.5% and 34.0%), Sclerotinia (8.4% and 4.6%), Alternaria (76.4% and 48.7%) in the more wet year of 2012. When the precipitation before the season (294 mm from December until March) had filled up the water stock of the chernozem soil and the vegetation period had been dry (79 mm rain during the months of June, July and August), the degree of infection was considerably lower (infection by Diaporthe: 37% in the extensive model and 25% in the mid-tech model, infection by Phoma: 28.5% and 17.4%, infection by Sclerotinia: 1.5% and 0.7%, infection by Alternaria: 35.8% and 22.2% in 2013 as an average of the hybrids). Due to the higher disease infection in 2012, the yield of the hybrids ranged between 3300 ? 4200 kg ha-1 and between 3900 ? 4900 kg ha-1 in the extensive (control) model and mid-tech model (two fungicide treatments), respectively. In the more favourable year of 2013 (as regards the weather and the disease infection), the yields of the hybrids varied between 4200 ? 5200 kg ha-1 in the extensive and between 5000 - 6000 kg ha-1 in the mid-tech crop protection model.
