Megjegyzések:Wheat production is a determining branch within Hungarian crop production (near 1 million hectares). Weather anomalies caused by climatic change confirmed the importance of biological basis (variety, hybrid) in wheat production. The adapting ability and reaction of different wheat genotypes towards nutrient supply were studied in a long-term field experiment on chernozem soil type in case of different pre-crops (sweet corn, sunflower and maize). According to the experimental results of the vegetation 2017/2018 the most highest yield amount of the variety Ingenio sown after the pre-crop sunflower ranged between 2710 kg ha-1 and 8710 kg ha-1 , while the hybrid (Hyland) in case of the pre-crop sweet maize between 6556 kg ha-1 and 9270 kg ha-1 depending on the applied nutrient supply level. The studied genotypes showed the highest quality (protein, gluten) in case of the pre-crop sweet maize. In the cropyear of 2017/2018, the protein content of Ingenio ranged between 12.2-14.8%, while the Hyland in case of the pre-crops sweet corn between 9.9-13.9%. The gluten content of the Ingenio genotype changed between 24.9-32.5%, in the case of Hyland ranged between 16.9-27.3% in the studied cropyear.

Megjegyzések:Saponins are secondary metabolites produced by various plants. These compounds have important role in the defence system. The word saponin refers to a group of different chemical compounds. Basically, sugar conjugates of triterpenoids or steroids are called saponins. Triterpene-type saponins are more specific among dicotyledonous plants, while steroid-type saponins are more characteristic of plants belonging to the monocotyledonous taxonomic group. Alfalfa is a large-scale cultivated and foraged fodder plant in Hungary. In the defence mechanism of alfalfa, saponins also play an important role. However, large amount of saponins can be toxic in animal fodder, especially in the poultry farming and piggery. As a dicotyledonous plant, the alfalfa saponins are mainly triterpenoid type. In our study we measure the total triterpenoid saponin content and leaf stem ratio of field cultivated alfalfa cultivars. Samples were collected from a randomized block design experiment, planted in the Demonstration Garden and Arboretum of Institutes of Agricultural Research and Educational Farm, in Debrecen, in 2018. Three different cultivar were investigated, and the samples were collected three different times of the growing season at growing stage of early flowering, for three years (2018-2020.). There was no difference in the TSC of examined varieties on the average of all measured data, although the sampling time showed significant effect on TSC. Our results attract attention to the fact that ageing of alfalfa stands can cause increase in TSC.

Megjegyzések:In our experiment, we investigated the effect of some of the most commonly used plant conditioners and yield enhancers in production of nursery-gardens and reference plantations, which are based on photosynthetic and growth parameters of saplings and productive stocks. The one-year old apple sapling was UEB 3177/1 variety, commertially called Sirius. In addition to the growth parameters (such as shoot length and stem diameter), the total chlorophyll and carotenoid contents, which determine photosynthetic activity, were also examined in both nursery-gardens and reference plantations. The individual and combined application of yield-enhancing and conditioning agents were involved in a total of six treatments. The application of iron and flavonoid containing preparation alone or in combination resulted a significant difference in total chlorophyll content compared to the control stock. In the case of the studied growth parameters, the combination of the flavonoid and humic acid containing preparations and the sole use of flavonoid agent proved to be the most effective in the longitudinal growth of the sapling. In the terms of trunk size, the combination of the same formulation proved to be the best treatment compared to the control stock. Our results may have been influenced by weather conditions, they can be considered as preliminary results, and our studies should be repeated in the next growing season to draw valid conclusions.
