Cím:The Effects of Thinnings on Yield and Value Changes in Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) Stands: A case study / Rédei Károly Miklós, Keserű Zsolt, Rásó János, Gál János
Dátum:2019
ISSN:1787-064X
Megjegyzések:Thinning experiments in black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) stands have been conducted in Hungary for many years. Black locust is an economically important tree species supplying the domestic timber industry. This paper evaluates two effects of thinnings: the effect on yield and the effect on stand value. The case study has proved thinnings in black locust stands do not increase periodic total production, but do increase the stem-quality index by 11?24%.

Cím:Influence of regeneration method on the yield and stem quality of Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) stands: a case study / Károly Rédei, Imre Csiha, Zsolt Keserű, János Gál
Dátum:2012
ISSN:1787-064X
Megjegyzések:Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) is one of the most important forest tree species inHungary, covering approximately 23% of the forested land and providing 25% of the annual timberoutput of the country. One third of these black locust stands are high forests (planted with seedlings)and the remainder coppices. According to the forestry regulations black locust stands can beregenerated both by root suckers and with seedlings in Hungary. This study investigates the influenceof different regeneration methods on wood production, stem quality and health. Properly managedregeneration from root suckers produced a higher yield than regeneration from seedlings at a harvestage of 35?37 years. The results show that regeneration of black locust stands from root suckers can berecommended on good and medium quality sites without a decrease in yield or stem quality.

Cím:Target diameter models for leuce poplar stands growing on sandy soils / Károly Rédei, Zsolt Keserű
Dátum:2012
Megjegyzések:The fact that certain ecological factors fundamentally influencing tree growth havebecome unfavourable in Hungary in recent years, has led to the more extensive use of white poplar(and its hybrids) in afforestation and forest regeneration. An intensive integrated research anddevelopment work has been carried out on the growth of Leuce poplars on sandy soils, includingprimarily the white poplar (Populus alba) and its natural hybrid the grey poplar (Populus x canescens). The research revealed several factors influencing stand growth. The study presents a new, simplifiedtending operation model for Leuce poplar stands, as well as age, growing space and target diametermodels suitable for qualitaty log production and for mass assortments. The simplicity of thesepractice-oriented models may foster the qualitative development of Leuce poplar management inHungary.

Cím:Juvenile growth and morphological traits of micropropagated black locust (Robinia Pseudoacacia L.) clones under arid site conditions / Károly Rédei, Zsolt Keserű, Imre Csiha, János Rásó, Ágnes Kamandiné Végh, Borbála Antal
Dátum:2013
ISSN:1787-064X
Megjegyzések:Abstract: In Hungary black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) is considered as an important exoticstand-forming tree species growing mostly under unfavourable ecological conditions for forestmanagement. Due to climate change effects its importance is increasing in many other countries, too.As a result of a selection programme new black locust clones were tested in clone trials. Juvenilegrowth and the morphological as well as phenological traits of four micropropagated black locustclones were evaluated in central Hungary under dry site conditions. Significant differences (P<5%)were found for DBH and field survival rate values. At age of 7 the clone R.p. ♭Bácska' ('KH 56A 2/5')appears to be especially promising for mass propagation. Tissue culture can be considered as a suitabletool for propagating superior individuals and offers new prospects for the rapid cloning of selectedgenotypes used for plantation forestry.
