Megjegyzések:In the last 50 years, poultry meat production has increased dynamically. The role of crude fiber content in feed is unclear based on a small amount of literature about goose feeding. The aim of theis experiment was to determine how various crude fiber content (55; 60; 65g crude fiber/kg feed) influences the performance of meat geese in the second phase of the rearing period. 150 goslings (3 treatments, 5 cages/treatment, 10 birds/cage) were included in the test. The experiment started and finished at the age of 21st and 63rd day, respectively. The obtained results suggest that various crude fiber content did not influence the performance of meat geese significantly; however, a feed of 55g crude fiber/kg resulted in better fattening results (final body weight, body weight gain, specific feed protein and energy conversion rate). In addition, compound feed of 65g crude fiber/kg proved more favourable with respect to cost-efficiency. Based on the obtained results so far, further models and farm experiments are required.

Megjegyzések:The aim of the study is to determine the effect of vitamin and mineral supplement under permanently high environmental temperature (30?1?C) on the digestibility of nutrients, performance and furthermore the composition of duck meat in the growing period. A total of four hundred mixed sex 14 days old Cherry Valley type hybrid ducks were used for the study. Two experimental diets were formulated in the study (control and vitamin E, C and zinc supplemented diet). Based on the results the following conclusions were drown: the antioxidant defence system plays an important role in the reduction of heat stress generated lipid peroxidation process. Feed additives which have direct or indirect antioxidant effects can reduce the negative effects of heat stress on the ducks performance and meat composition. Digestibility of nutrients (Dry Matter, Crude Protein, Crude Fat) was not affected by antioxidant supplementation under chronic heat stress (30?1?C). The performance was affected significantly by Vitamin C and E and zinc supplementation under heat stress (P<0.05). In the treated group the daily weight gain (dWG) increased and the feed conversion ratio (FCR) was improved significantly (P<0.05). The energy and protein conversion was decreased also significantly (P<0.05).

Megjegyzések:A szelén esszenciális, antioxidáns hatású mikroelem. Számos enzim alkotórésze, az állati szervezetek természetes komponense. A takarmányokhoz való adagolása mikroelem kiegészítés formájában általánosan elfogadott. Korábban több állatkísérlet igazolta, hogy a nanoszelén az eddig használt szelénformáknál jobb antioxidáns hatású, azonban halakra gyakorolt szerepéről még kevés információ áll rendelkezésünkre. Kísérletünkben azt vizsgáltuk, hogy egy gyári táp nanoszelén kiegészítése hogyan befolyásolja a termelési paramétereket, illetve a halak testösszetételét. Statisztikailag elemeztük az összefüggést a kezelések, és a halak testében felhalmozódott szelén, illetve a takarmányértékesítés között. Arra is kerestük a választ, hogy a nanoszelén képes-e toxikus hatást kifejteni nagyobb dózisban. A halakat egy ivadéknevelő recirkulációs rendszerbe helyeztük ki, 12 db 70 literes műanyag medencébe. A víz sótartalma és hőmérséklete a 8 hetes kísérlet alatt végig állandó volt. A takarmányozás étvágy szerint történt, napi 4 alkalommal. A kontroll mellett öt (1; 1,5; 2,5; 5,5; 10,5 mg Se/kg) kezelést állítottunk be, két ismétlésben. A termelési paraméterek tekintetében csak az FCR és a megmaradás értékeiben tudtunk szignifikáns különbséget (p<0,05) kimutatni az egyes csoportok között. Azonban igen szoros kapcsolatot találtunk (r=0,752?0,780; p<0,01) a kísérleti beállítások és a halak által akkumulált szelén mennyisége között. A szabad zsírsav-tartalmat elemezve azt tapasztaltuk, hogy a szelén felvétele minden csoportban szignifikánsan megemelte azok szintjét. Leglátványosabban az n-3 zsírsavak mennyisége változott. Megállapítható tehát, hogy a 0,5 mg/kg-nál nagyobb nanoszelén-bevitel nem változtatta meg jelentősen a termelési mutatókat, azonban a gyári tápok szelén tartalmát érdemes lehet 1,5 mg/kg-ig növelni vörös árnyékhal termelésnél.

Megjegyzések:Indigenous chickens are well known for their dual-purpose function and palatable meat. However, the information on their hematology parameters is lacking and hence hampering the poultry industry production of local breeds. The main objective of this study was to examine the hematological parameters of Hungarian Partridge Coloured hen (HPC) and TETRA-SL (TSL) genotype and determine the hematological reference interval values. This trial was part of the larger experiment where a total of 200 chicks (HPC + TSL) were reared. For this trial the blood samples were obtained from brachial wing veins of 8 chicks of each genotype for blood hematological analysis. The results indicated that some of the hematological parameters such as red blood cells-RBC, white blood cells-WBC, hemoglobin-Hb, hematocrit-Ht, platelets-Plt, lymphocytes-LYM, and granulocytes-GRAN were significantly affected by the genotypes (p < 0.05). The genotype did not affect the mean corpuscular volume-MCV, mean corpuscular hemoglobin-MCH, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration-MCHC, and GRAN (p > 0.05). The hematological reference interval values were slightly higher in the TSL genotype compared to HPC chicks. It is concluded that genotype has a significant effect on the hematological parameters. The results from this trial will be help and design the baseline reference values for the HPC genotype which will be useful in assessing the health status of these indigenous chickens.

Megjegyzések:During the rearing of mealworm (Tenebrio molitor) larvae, the optimisation of the growing substrate has a particular importance. The application of the appropriate substrate is a fundamental pillar for intensive and safe production. The requirements for substrate include the lack of toxins, high nutrient and micro-macro element content. The aim of this study was the evaluation of the effects of different substrates on the production parameters, nutrient and mineral composition of the mealworm larvae. The experiment lasted through 14 days. 5 treatments were set up at, where the variable was the substrate. The test system consisted of 25 units (5 treatments and 5 replicates). 10 mealworm larvae per unit, (total of 250 larvae) were used at the beginning of the experiment. Regarding the substrates, our study included sweet potato (SP), may turnip tuber (MT) and may turnip leaf (ML). In addition to the plant by-products, wheat flour (WF) and wheat semolina (WS) were used as control substrates. Trace element uptake and production parameters of the larvae were determined at the end of the experiment. Regarding the production parameters, it can be stated that the wheat semolina (0.081 ? 0.005 g) and wheat flour (0.069 ? 0.007 g) substrate used as control gave the best results for the final body weight. In terms of plant raw materials and by-products, sweet potatoes (0.063 ? 0.007) can only be recommended as substrate, while may turnip tuber and may turnip leaf produced significantly lower final body weight results (MT=0.034 ? 0.002 g ; ML= 0.036 ? 0.002 g). The nutrient composition of the larvae was not affected by the substrate, these results confirmed the high protein and fat content reported in the literature. The results with the production parameters were contradicted by the micronutrient content. Larvae reared on may turnip leaf (ML) and tuber (MT) showed the highest values for most of the macro- and microelements (potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper) tested.

Megjegyzések:A H-FABP gén egy potenciálisan nagyhatású gén a zsírdepozícióval összefüggésbe hozható tulajdonságok, elsősorban az intramuszkuláris zsírtartalom tekintetében. Jelen kutatás célja annak meghatározása, hogy a génben korábban közölt pontmutációk milyen összefüggésben vannak a standard vágóhídi vágás során mért paraméterekkel. A vizsgálat 405, 2 istállóban tartott, vegyes ivarú állat adatainak felhasználásával tör tént. A két kiválasztott mutációt (HFABP1: c. 103 T>C, HFABP2: c. 1970 T>C) HinfI restrikciós enzimmel, egy reakcióban detektáltuk PCR-RFLP (Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Lenght Polymorphism) módszerrel. Az allélgyakoriságok a következők szerint alakultak: 103T(H)=0,75; 103C(h)=0,25, 1970T=0,32; 1970C=0,68. Az első istállóban (1. minta) a HFABP1 mutáció szignifikáns hatást muta tott a hátszalonna-vastagság és színhúskihozatal esetében. A második istállóban (2. minta) nem tudtunk szignifikáns összefüggést igazolni a mért termelési paraméterek és a vizsgált mutációk között. A HFABP2 genotípusaihoz tartozó átlagértékek között nem találtunk szignifikáns el - térést. Jelen vizsgálat alapján nem tudunk egyértelmű következtetést levonni a polimorfizmusok termelési paraméterekre gyakorolt hatásáról. Az általunk vizsgált állományban az 5' UTR régióban lévő mutáció allélfrekvenciája megegyezik a szakirodalomban leírt adatokkal, vagyis az intramuszkuláris zsírtartalomra nézve kedvezőbb változat van túlsúlyban a populációban.

Megjegyzések:The Philippine livestock industry is a vital component in the country's agricultural sector. It contributes around 18.23 percent of the gross output value in agriculture and provides livelihood to many people living in rural areas, signifying its importance with regard to the country's economy. The constantly increasing demand for animal protein associated with the increase of the world's population led to the intensification of livestock production, realized through the various initiatives implemented by the government, such as the import of high producing purebreds of various species. This strategy greatly influenced the country's animal genetic resource's diversity and increased food animals' population; however, it impacted the native breeds of food animals. Understanding the characteristics, performance and value of native and exotic breeds is essential to prioritize their livestock industry existence. Thus, this paper aims to cha racterize various native and exotic breeds of livestock in the Philippines and assess the current conservation of native animals.
