Megjegyzések:Hybrid selection and the application of hybrid specific production technologies are important in terms of the increase of the yield and crop safety of maize. The main explanation for this is climate change, since weather extremes are going on and seem to accelerate in Hungary too. The spring of 2013 can be characterized as of great amount of precipitation, in the third month, the fivefold of the 30-year average fell. In 2013, in the case of each hybrid, longer ears were observed. We can conclude that during the droughty 2012, lower ears with lesser grains were developed in the case of every hybrid. In 2013, the weather was more favourable during the period of grain-filling and development, therefore the hybrids not only produced longer ears but significantly more grains were developed in one row.

Megjegyzések:The present studies were executed in a poly-factorial long-term field experiment set up in 1983. Winter wheat was used as test plant. Studies were executed in both bi-(maize-wheat) and tri-culture (maize-pea-wheat) crop rotation systems in two crop years (2012 and 2013). Nutrient supply level of N100+PK was applied in the experiment. The dynamic change of soil moisture content (expressed in V/V%) of the upper 200cm soil layer during the vegetation period of winter wheat from sowing until harvest, just as the water supply deficit values of the vegetation period were studied. Based on our results it has been stated that the water stock of the chernozem soil was significantly affected by crop rotation ?beside other influencing factors (weather conditions, nutrient supply, tillage). Regarding the two studied crop rotation system slower soil moisture content values expressed as volume percent were calculated for the triculture crop rotation system.

Megjegyzések:The research work has been carried out at the Látókép Research Site of the University of Debrecen, Centre for Agricultural Sciences, Farm and Regional Research Institute on calcareous chernozem soil in. We examined the effects of sowing times and the fungicide treatments on the phytopathogenic characteristics phytopathological properties of sunflower hybrids. In order to characterize the phytopathological properties of sunflower hybrids in a complex way infection index (Ii) has been elaborated. The infection of sunflower populations by fungal phytopathogenes was mainly determined by the weather conditions of the crop year. The development of infection indexes depended mainly on the sowing time in the studied crop years (r=-0.806**, r=-0.755**). Fungicide application had significant contribution to the moderation of the unfavourable effect of sowing time in both years and thus it decreased the infection index of sunflower populations (r=-0.464**, r=-0.578**). Plant phytopathogenes resulted in significant yield loss in sunflower populations only in the crop year of 2012 that was characterized by heavy infection.

Megjegyzések:Nowadays the most important challenge is in crop production how to reduce the huge industrial inputs and how to improve the agronomic efficiency of technology. The one of the best way is to use the agrotechnical elements of precision technology. The effects of different crop management factors were studied in long-term experiments on chernozem soil in Eastern Hungary (Debrecen). In sustainable maize production the fertilization resulted high yield surpluses in average (2.0-4.1 t ha-1) and rainy (2.1-5.4 t ha-1) crop year (LTE2). Our scientific results proved that the modern maize genotypes had high maximum yields (15.4-16.6 t ha-1). The maximum yield of maize hybrids depended on fertilizer doses and plant density. We founded a special interaction between fertilization and plant density: in higher plant density we had to use higher dose of fertilizer (LTE1). In Nopt+PK treatment we obtained higher WUE values (36.6-46.9 kg ha-1) comparing with control treatment (28.7-33.6 kg ha-1) in maize production.

Megjegyzések:Maize has high productivity and produces hudge vegetative and generative phytomass, but maize is very sensitive to agroecological (mainly to climatic, partly to pedological conditions) and agrotechnical circumstances. In Hungary maize is grown on 1,1-1,2 million hectars, the national average yields vary between 4-7 t ha-1 depending on the year and the intensity of production technology. The crop rotation, fertilization and plant density on the yields of maize were investigated in dry and wet cropyears in a long-term experiments on chernozem soil. The water-supplies were rainfed and irrigated. In dry cropyear the yield-surpluses of irrigation were 2.8-4.2t ha-1, in the cropyear characterized by average-goodwater supply the yield increasements of irrigation varied between 0.7-2.1 t ha-1, respectively. The yield-increasements of irrigation were mainly modified by crop rotation and fertilization. The optimum plant density of maize was different in the rainfed and irrigated crop technology on chernozem soil.The maximum LAI values of maize (4.0-4.8 m2m-2) were in middle July and the SPAD values were on high level (56-59) between early July and middle August in maize production.

Megjegyzések:We have investigated the fertilizer response of oilseed rape on the chernozem soil in Eastern Hungary. Our research results proved that oilseed rape is has high fertilizer (N+PK) demand. In the experiments, N = 210 kg ha-1 +PK proved to be the optimal fertilizer dose. The yield increasing effect of fertilization was 800 to 1300 kg ha-1, depending on the cropyear. The maximum yield (5000 kg ha-1) was obtained in the cropyear of the less infection. The results of our studies confirmed that the hybrid rape was of excellent adaptivity to the sowing time; due to this fact, the yield decrease was minimal (0-270 kg ha-1) in the middle September sowing time compared to the late August one. According to the results of the Pearson's correlation analysis, strong correlation (0.6*-0.9**) was found between the spring precipitation and temperature and the most important diseases (Sclerotinia, Alternaria, Peronospora, Phoma) of oilseed rape. The sowing time had more significant effect on the LAI oilseed rape and moderated effect on the relative chlorophyll content (SPAD).

Megjegyzések:Fertilization responses of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes (GK Öthalom, Euclide, Mv Toldi, Pannonikus) were studied in a long-term experiment on chernozem soil in 2011-2013 cropyears. Our scientific results proved that there were variety-specific differences among the winter wheat varieties in natural nutrient utilization, maximum yields and yield-surpluses. The infections of leaf diseases of wheat were influenced by cropyears and genotypes. In the application of wheat crop models the variety-specific fertilization is the most important agrotechnical elements.

Megjegyzések:Our long-term experiments on chernozem and loamy soils proved that the crop rotation, fertilization, planting technology, irrigation and weed control are the most important element in the different agrotechnical crop models of maize (Zea mays L.). The yields of maize can be hold stable on the yield level of 11-12 t ha-1 and agronomy efficiency can be ensured by the optimum management of the key agronomic elements both on chernozem and loamy soils.

Megjegyzések:Drought stress is an abiotic factor affecting growth and yields of crop plants and one ofthemost important limiting factors for maize growth and productivity in many places across the world.To evaluate the effect of water deficit stress and nutrient levels on yield, yield components and grainnutrient quality levels, this experiment was carried out as factorial based on randomized completeblock design with 3 replications in a biculture field.Two levels of water treatment were applied thus, non-irrigated and irrigated and three levelsof nitrogen treatment (control, 80kg, 120kg) were used.In this study, NDVI, Protein, and moisture content were significantly affected by water stresswhiles Yield, LAI, Protein, starch and moisture content were significantly influenced by nitrogentreatments.

Megjegyzések:Millet originates from Asia and it has been produced due to its short growing season and favourable dietary effect since the ancient times. Millet production reached its peak in the Middle Ages and it used to be the main food for humans. Later, the significance of this crop decreased and its sowing area was greatly reduced. Millet production is expected to be of great significance in the future. Millet can be used in reform nutrition, in increasing the diversity of the produced crops, as well as a secondary sown crop in areas with groundwater infiltration which dry up later due to weather extremities caused by climate change, since millet is less sensitive to these conditions. Millet could also have a role in extending the possibility of rational crop rotation.

Megjegyzések:Today, cropyears with extreme weather conditions are becoming more and more frequent and increase the risk of sunflower production. The objective of researches into plant production is to minimize these effects as much as possible. In this sense, the optimization of agrotechnological factors is of high importance. Therefore, appropriate cropping technologies (crop density), nutrient supplyand optimized, rational crop protection are highly important especially in highly sensitive sunflower cultures. The highest yield amount was measured in the treatment models treated two-times with fungicide and fertilized with NPK substances in case of all three hybrids. The highest yield amount was harvested in all treatments in case of the hybrid NKFerti. Regarding the average of the hybrids the highest yield (3,896 kg ha-1) without any fungicide treatment was measured in the treatment with harmonic nutrient supply with plant density of 55,000 plants ha-1. When applying the plant density of 35,000 plants ha-1 and 75,000 plants ha-1 yield amounts were below 2,500 kg ha-1 in case of all nutrient supply levels. Treatments with two-times fungicide treatment resulted maximal yield amounts in case of all three nutrient supply levels by the highest plant density, i.e. 75,000 plants ha-1.
