Cím:Implications of Genotype by Environment Interactions in Dairy Sheep Welfare / Dinu Gavojdian, Szilvia Kusza, András Jávor
Dátum:2014
ISSN:1841-9364 2344-4576
Megjegyzések:Small ruminants are the most extensively farmed livestock species in Europe, as a result being extremely exposed to natural hazards which leads to strong interactions between genotype and environment. Aim of the current review was to outline and discuss the main welfare issues and economic implications with regards to the genotype by environment interactions in dairy sheep. Researches concerning the additive genetic effect on milk yield, shown that this accounts only for 10%, while the milk production is 90% influenced by environmental factors, highlighting the major role that management and nutrition play in the dairy production of sheep. Nowadays, dairy sheep breeds (e.g. Eastern Friesian and Lacaune), are being introduced and reared in various countries under an extremely wide range of rearing conditions, without adequate knowledge on their acclimatization to the new specific conditions. It was concluded that a welfare assessment protocol for dairy sheep does not exist up today, moreover, there is a serious lack of data concerning the genetic and environmental factors affecting the welfare status of dairy sheep at farm level under different production systems.

Cím:Effect of selenium supplement on proteome of chicken egg white and yolk / Gabriella Gulyás, Levente Czeglédi, József Prokisch, Éva Csősz, Zoltán Szabó, Tamás Janáky, András Jávor
Dátum:2014
ISSN:1841-9364 2344-4576
Megjegyzések:The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in the proteome profiles of egg yolk and white between control and selenium treated group using two dimensional-difference in gel electrophoresis (2D-DIGE) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). 7 and 4 spots showed different expression levels (p<0.05) between groups in egg yolk and white, respectively. Identified proteins were vitellogenin-1,-2,-3 and apolipoprotein B in egg yolk and ovoglobulin G2, clusterin and ovalbumin-related protein X in egg white. Our results demonstrate usefulness of proteomic tools identification of proteins associated to selenium supplement.

Dátum:2010
ISSN:1841-9364 2344-4576
Megjegyzések:The viability and acrosome staining by trypan blue ?Giemsa, or Chicago sky blue ?Giemsa was improved and also the time of the procedure was shortened by elevated temperature. The quicker Giemsa staining at 50?C reduced the disturbing background caused by the freezing extenders. The mounting medium containing methyl-yellow improved the differentiation of the acrosome and tail viability status.

Cím:Oilseeds as a perspective in the nutrition on dairy farm / Agnes Suli, Bela Beri, János Csapo, Elizabet Berecz
Dátum:2017
ISSN:1841-9364 2344-4576
Megjegyzések:In the last decades many researches were made to change the milk product food's composition. The production of better fat-compound milk and dairy products became a goal in the name of health conscious nutrition. Our researches were motivated by non-adequate milk fat's compound. With the optimal supplement of the feed can be increased the proportion of the polyunsaturated fatty acids and can decreased the unsaturated fatty acids. The object of our experiment to study the effect of natural-based feed additives, such as oilseeds (whole linseed, extruded linseed, whole rapeseed) on the fatty acid composition of milk fat. Further information was gained about of oilseeds in specific amounts to be fitted into technology of an intensive dairy farm in practice. The feed supplements were whole, untreated rapeseed and linseed and cold extruded linseed as a part of total mixed ration. The level of the processing of feed supplements affected the fatty acid composition of milk fat. The effect of full fat linseed feed supplement was more significant than that of the cold extruded linseed, in the increase of the polyunsaturated fatty acids, with special regard to the increase of the ?-linolenic acid proportion. Out of the full fat oilseeds the feeding of full fat rapeseed did not result in a considerable change in the fatty acid composition of milk fat. After applying full fat linseed as feed supplement, the proportion of ?-linolenic acid, a conjugated linoleic acid, an eicosadienoic acid and a docosapentaenoic acid increased in the fatty acid composition of milk fat, while the concentration of many saturated fatty acids reduced.

Cím:Insertion of Hungarian Merino Sheep Breed into the European Merino Group according to Maternal Origin (mtDNA CR) / Szabó Mária, Monori István, Kusza Szilvia
Dátum:2016
ISSN:1841-9364 2344-4576
Megjegyzések:Merino sheep breeds have been widely distributed across the world. They represent one of the most important genetic resource of the sheep sector. But the crisis of the wool industry led to a drastic reduction in the number of European Merino breeds including the Hungarian Merino. The Hungarian Merino is a local sheep breed with a nearly 250-year old breeding history in Hungary. It has the largest number of individuals between both of the purebred (including nucleus and multiplier flocks) and commercial flocks. Most of the purebred flocks went through a liquidation after the year 1989. That also caused a drastic reduction in the number of purebred-ewes. The Hungarian Merino breeding stock consists of barely 3700 female individuals recently. This has led to declare the breed endangered in 2014. Our future plan is to analyse the genetic variability of the Hungarian Merino breed based on the approximately 1000 base pairs long mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) D-loop sequences. So far, we collected DNA samples from 172 individuals from 10 genealogical lines. We would like to examine the haplotype diversity and compare the overall genetic distances within and among each genealogical lines. Our further plan is to compare our data to GenBank sequences of other Merino and founder breeds.
