Megjegyzések:	Narrative Possibilities in Late Latin and Early Romance Texts This paper is devoted to narrative devices and discourse structure in four texts: a Latin chronicle of Gaul (Fredegarius, 7th century), a Latin legend (Vita sanctae Radegundis, same geographical area, same period), and two Early Romance epic songs (Chanson de Roland, from France, 12th century, and Cantar de mio Cid, from Spain, 13th century). Studied fields include representation of time, dynamism of text progression, and the manifestations of the narrator's subjectivity. Differences of structure exhibited by the four texts depend on their pragmatic and aesthetic aims and on their mode of diffusion.

Megjegyzések:	Names in Marguerite Duras' Novels This paper aims to give a brief description of names in Marguerite Duras' novels. Duras' fiction has undergone important changes from a realistic to an abstract and poetic type of writing. It appears that Duras' technique of naming is in accordance with the general evolution of her novelistic style. Place-names range from existing geographical names to invented names with a strange sonority. Similarly, characters in the early novels have rather common names, whereas later?unless they are anonymous?they get names with significant connotations as to their social or ethnic background, and even their psy-chological state.
