Megjegyzések:This article focuses on phonetic and phonotactic changes in the Finnish first names. The most Finnish firstnames were a Fennicized form of the Christian or Swedish first names. The part of these Fennicized first nameswere used in informal situations. These became formal during the 19th century when the Finnish forms wereadded to the Finnish almanac. My aim is to present how the Fennicized forms evolved from the basic first namesand what kind of phonetic and phonotactic changes happened.

Megjegyzések:As a result of János S. Petőfi's research into text coherence via a semiotic textology approach, the concept of constringency has appeared in the terminology of coherence as a phenomenon that is related to the problematics of the cohesion-connexity-coherence triad. It should be noted here that constringency describes the recipient's impression that presumably precedes the identification of the function of referring elements in the linguistic organization of the given text. That is to say, the semantic, grammatical and/or other (stylistic, acoustic, visual, etc.) connective and referential components that are present in the text merely support the recipient's positive judgment of constringency. The lack of these, however, does not weaken or cancel the consistency of the state of affairs that are assumedly rendered to the text. In the present study, I analyze eight short texts consisting of two sentences each in order to make an attempt to illustrate - on the one hand, the relation between linguistic forms and constringency judgments mentioned above; - and, on the other hand, the interaction of those meaning components whose relations' representation may contribute to the understanding of positive constringency judgments (despite the fact that these relations do not become explicit in the linguistic form of the sentences). Finally, I propose a potential representation of the lexico-semantic relations between the meaning components described above.

Megjegyzések:In semiotic textology, constringency is regarded to be the single condition for text coherence. In general, it can be stated that a text is constringent if its actual recipient considers the complex of facts or state of affairs relevant to it to be well-formed and coherent. This concept of text meaning attributes significant importance to the creators/senders of texts and (mostly) to the recipients/interpreters of texts, as well as to the mental operations that are characteristic of them. Through this, semiotic textology expands the representation of text meaning undoubtedly towards cognitive semantics and pragmatics. Although the concept of constringency has appeared in the relevant terminology to complement the meaning representation of the text and its role in meaning representation is often described through its relation to coherence and planes of connectivity in the text meaning, its relative quality in the function of the specific circumstances of interpretation is not emphasized properly. The present study wishes to call attention to this relativity by listing the points that are assumed or supposed to have an effect on constringency judgments.

Megjegyzések:In the framework of my study, I illustrate via the analysis of Attila József's poem Mama with what information the complex signal model interpreted in the context of semiotic textology and the system of meaning planes contribute to the representation of the meaning of the text. The theoretical framework of meaning analysis is comprised by semiotic textology. In the representation of the meaning, the interpreter of the text (and, obviously, its creator) is present as a unique mental content or as a unique mental function. In the context of this conception, the basis of textuality is the intuition of the recipient of the text concerning whether or not it functions as a text for a currently perceived complex sign. Megjegyzések:In my paper I have undertaken to analyse the metaplasms appearing in Lajos Parti Nagy's volume of poetry entitled Szódalovaglás, published in 1990. My main intention is to identify perhaps the most characteristic means of style creation used by Lajos Parti Nagy, the metaplasms, as well as to examine their role in style creation. I have tried to find out the role of manipulations of phonetic forms in the process of text interpretation, the associations these might raise in the receiver, i.e. the possible style effect of these characteristic features at the different text places.

Megjegyzések:The present paper aims to describe the meänkieli language and its speakers' current situation from the point of language policy and the results of the revitalisation so far. To understand the present situation the study contains information about their history and how the meänkieli language has become an endangered language in Sweden. After the description of this process it shows the latest changes in the Swedish policy concerning minorities and minority languages. The last part of the study shows the important changes have happened in the respect of the attitude toward the meänkieli, emphasising its own speakers' attitude, and the results of the language revitalisationin various fields. In spite of the positive changes the meänkieli language is still an endangered language and its survival is questionable.

Megjegyzések:Bilingual speakers' languages are not independent from each other. However, it is debated what kind of functional and structural relation exists between the two languages. From this viewpoint, the age and the manner of language acquisition is mentioned as an important factor. Researchers emphasize the dynamic relation between the languages of bilinguals being influenced by various external and internal factors, but there is no agreement on mental processing. In this paper I attempt to review how the connectionist approach (which seems to be the most appropriate for modeling the philogenesis and ontogenesis) can be used in the study of bilingualism.
