Cím:Impact of the Applied Project Management Methodology on the Perceived Level of Creativity / Blaskovics, Bálint; Czifra, Julianna; Klimkó, Gábor; Szontágh, Péter
Dátum:2023
ISSN:1785-8860
Megjegyzések:The phenomenon of creativity has been studied by many authors and there have been numerous research studies conducted about how to induce it. In software development project contexts, especially when comparing agile and waterfall methodologies, this topic seems to be unexplored. The authors aimed to fill this research gap by conducting a survey based on quantitative research that involved 61 project managers or employees. The perceived creativity in project activities is operationalized through the degree of innovation content and extraction in the project, as well as through factors that relate to the exploitation of creativity as the way how it is learned and recognised. The use of the agile development approach was characterized by agile practices such as the use of stand-ups, sprint plannings and user stories. The results of the research suggest that the chosen software development approach has an impact on the perceived use of creativity, whereas learning is significant in cases where the stand-up tool of agile project management is used. ? 2023, Budapest Tech Polytechnical Institution. Cím:Human Factor Aspects of Situation Awareness in Autonomous Cars : An Overview of Psychological Approaches / Kovács Gábor, Hőgye-Nagy Ágnes, Kurucz Győző
Dátum:2021
ISSN:1785-8860
Megjegyzések:The aim of the article is to give an overview of human factor research in psychology applicable to autonomous driving. The study is centered around situation awareness, a widely used concept in human factor research regarding the operation of automated and semi-automated systems (and communication between autonomous vehicles and humans). A proposal is put forward for structuring situation awareness requirements for autonomous driving, which could be a starting point for defining such requirements, and may foster a discussion on the issues associated with the human factor in relation to autonomous driving. Two models of human error (the SHELL model and the Swiss cheese model) are also introduced, one of which represents an integrated approach of error in situations that involve humans working with complex machinery or instruments, while the other represents a more superficial viewpoint on the multicausal nature of errors. The present overview can provide an appropriate basis for a discussion about the role of the driver in autonomous vehicles, and the place of human factor research in the emerging field of self-driving technology.

Cím:Measuring the algorithmic skills of students working with low- and high-mathability programming approaches / Katalin Sebestyén, Gábor Csapó, Mária Csernoch, Kálmán Abari
Dátum:2022
ISSN:1785-8860
Megjegyzések:In spite of the fact that teaching programming is obligatory in Hungarian public ICT education, the low number of lessons accompanied by the lack of students' knowledge and interest marginalize the topic. Research and experience show that even when working with experienced teachers, students have a hard time mastering imperative and object-oriented programming languages. These languages usually approach problem-solving from a mathematical perspective, with a minimal design IDE (Integrated Development Environment) and output screen. As an alternative solution, schools and courses apply various visual programming environments that make it possible to create colorful motivating games and animations even in one lesson. In our research we compared two visual programming environments: Scratch (control group), developed for education, and Construct 3 (experimental group), developed for game and software development. We conducted a measurement of the efficacy of the two environments for teaching programming in two grade-8 groups. The students learned the topic by solving traditional algorithmic tasks, but taking advantage of the visual interfaces. The results, in accordance with previous findings, show that in developing the students' algorithmic skills there is no difference between these visual programming languages. Furthermore, we found proof that the selected teaching methods play a crucial role in the development of said skills of the students.
