Megjegyzések:Sport through its forms of expression and organization, through quantitative and qualitative features of the participants and spectators, through the fact that it is an inseparable part of daily life on Earth, by on-going local, regional, national or international area, requires a geographical analysis, where meet two essential parts: the space and time to which the analysis focused on the links between sports and place. The literature shows a large number of specialists in interdisciplinary studies on sport, geography, and other scientific fields as economics, medicine, sociology, tourism etc. Through this study we aimed to present a series of conceptual and methodological arguments specific for geography and useful in spatial analysis of sport, all supported by highlighting some representative papers in this interdisciplinary research field direction. All arguments converge to Gaffney's definition that "sport is inherently geographic."

Cím:The spatial characteristics of the infrastructural background of physical education (PE) classes in Hungarian kindergartens / Gábor Kozma
Dátum:2020
ISSN:2393-1353
Megjegyzések:Kindergarten physical education (PE) plays an important role in the development of the age group concerned for a number of reasons; however, it is only possible in case of certain infrastructural conditions, which make it possible to have PE classes even in case of unfavourable weather conditions. In the spirit of the above, the primary objective of this paper is the examination of the spatial distribution of these facilities (smaller gym rooms and larger gyms) used for kindergarten PE classes in Hungary. The following could be emphasised from the research findings. Firstly, the infrastructural conditions of kindergarten PE are not very favourable in Hungary: hardly more than 50% of all institutions have suitable infrastructure. Secondly, from among the factors influencing the spatial distribution of the available facilities, at both the district and the settlement levels, the size of the population can be considered as particularly important: as the population size increases, an improvement of the conditions can be seen. Thirdly, the level of economic development hardly has any influence on their position.

Cím:The spatial developement of sports facilities within the cities / Kozma Gábor
Dátum:2014
Megjegyzések:As a result of the increasing significance of sports which can be observed in the recent decade, researchers in the field of the urban geography have also begun to pay more attention to the spatial location and development of sports facilities within the settlements. Using the example of Debrecen, one of the outstanding cities of Hungary from the point of view of sports, in addition to describing the development of the sports facilities, the aim of present paper is to describe the spatial development of sports facilities, to classify them into different categories and to observe the factors influencing their spatial development. As a result it can be said that in the case of the larger sports facilities locations on the edge of the city or in suburbs dominated at the time when the projects were completed, but these facilities may be rather considered today as located within the city boundaries. As far as smaller sports facilities are concerned, a central location is found in a few cases, but the most important characteristic, both at the time when the projects were completed and today, was location within the city. If we consider the factors influencing the location of sports facilities, the most important role, similarly to international trends, was naturally played by the location of the available plots; in addition, accessibility and the proximity of the market of users were also determining factors.

Cím:The possibilities and results for the scientific research into the relationship between settlements and sport / Kozma Gábor, Bács Zoltán, Zilinyi Zsombor
Dátum:2015
ISSN:2393-1353
Megjegyzések:The scope of tasks organised and performed by settlements and their leaders has continuously broadened since the beginnings of time. Initially, the leaders of settlements were primarily expected to provide for the safe operation of the settlement, the creation of the conditions of commerce, as well as the administration of justice. However, from the 18th and 19th centuries onward, settlements started to play an increasingly important role also in the areas of education, social and healthcare services. In the 20th century, parallel with the spread of the notion of the welfare state, activities related to the useful spending of free time have gained importance, among which, in addition to culture -primarily in the most recent times -sports has played an increasingly significant role as well. The aim of this paper is to explore the possible areas of researching the relationships between settlements and sports. Further developing the tetrahedron model of the settlement, the truncated triangular pyramid model has been created, the two bases of which are the natural environment and the municipal administration, while the sides are the infrastructural, economic and social spheres. The paper will present the results of and further possibilities in sports- related research aimed at each of these spheres, as well as the sports- related characteristics of the interactions taking place along the edges of the truncated triangular pyramid.
