Cím:Benchmarking Redis and HBase NoSQL Databases Using Yahoo Cloud Service Benchmarking Tool / Mustafa Alzaidi, Aniko Vagner
Dátum:2022
ISSN:1787-5021 1787-6117
Megjegyzések:Not Structured Query Language (NoSQL) databases have become more relevant to applications developers as the need for scalable and flexible data storage for online applications has increased. Each NoSQL database system provides features that fit particular types of applications. Thus, the developer must carefully select according to the application's needs. Redis is a key-value NoSQL database that provides fast data access. On the other hand, the Apache Hbase database is a column-oriented database that offers scalability and fast data access, is a promising alternative to Redis in some types of applications. In this research paper, the goal is to use the Yahoo Cloud Serving Benchmark (YCSB) to compare the performance of two databases (Redis and HBase). The YCSB platform has been developed to determine the throughput of both databases against different workloads. This paper evaluates these NoSQL databases with six workloads and varying threads (0 - 10).

Dátum:2023
ISSN:1787-5021 1787-6117
Megjegyzések:Our main objective focuses on the different design principles for applications that can receive and store various data from smart devices, e.g., smart bands, smart watches, and smart homes, and could gain more information about its users to some extent to their health. We would like to collect this information, store it, then create understandable diagrams and show them to the user in a modern, responsive environment. We placed great emphasis on the underlying architecture, which holds the necessary features (scalability and extensibility). We have followed the design process's standards, recommendations, and protocols. The result is an application framework that fulfills the duty of an XXI. century smart solutions application that could monitor people's health and even help them live healthier lives by avoiding chronic disorders, e.g., obesity and/or diabetes. We focused on predicting and classifying COVID-19 disease according to the collected information and research.

Dátum:2021
ISSN:1787-5021 1787-6117
Megjegyzések:Modeling and simulating the traffic flow in large urban road networks are important tasks. A mathematically rigorous stochastic model proposed earlier is based on the synthesis of the graph and Markov chain theories. In this model, the transition probability matrix describes the traffic dynamics and its unique stationary distribution approximates the proportion of the vehicles at the segments of the road network. In this paper various Markov models are studied and a simulation method is presented for generating random traffic trajectories on a road network based on the two-dimensional stationary distribution of the models. In a case study we apply our method to the central region of the city of Debrecen by using the road network data from the OpenStreetMap project which is available publicly.

Megjegyzések:In this paper, we propose a general framework for sport science simulations that we refer to as Simulation Oriented Architecture (SimOA). As a concrete implementation of the framework we present a collection of sport science simulators that we developed in the experimental industrial research anddevelopment project called "Football Avatar" for simulating soccer matches. The practical goal of performing such simulations is to help soccer teams with providing an effective tool for supporting tactical decision making. The paper also establishes a solid theoretical foundation for performing sport science simulations introducing the concept of avatars.

Cím:On the patterns of the nonstationary datagram based fast communication processes / Zoltan Gal, Gyorgy Terdik
Dátum:2023
ISSN:1787-5021 1787-6117
Megjegyzések:Nowadays expectations against modern communication services involve not just Quality of Service (QoS) enhancement for real-time applications but also increased transmission rate between the storing and processing of Big Data nodes. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) has strict flow control of the data stream providing automatic adaptation to the path load of the process-to-process communication. User Datagram Protocol (UDP) based solutions are proposed to settle the communication efficiency. In this paper, we analyse the effect of three independent communication parameters on the efficiency of looped UDP communication: the size of the Maximum Transfer Unit (MTU), the bandwidth of the end-to-end session, and the segment size of the UDP protocol data unit. The usage of nonstationary multi-resolution methods helps to identify three characteristic patterns offering identification of the objective qualitative features of the looped datagram communication services.

Cím:Surprise event detection of the supercomputer execution queues / Zoltán Gál, Tibor Tajti, György Terdik
Dátum:2015
ISSN:1787-5021 1878-6117
Megjegyzések:Huge amount of data is generated by and collected from the IoT (Internet of Things) physical and virtual devices. These sets of data series reflect in complex form the state of a given system in multidimensional space. Healthiness evaluation of a given system implies state analysis with enhanced methods. Special events can appear during the execution of jobs in a supercomputer (HPC - High Performance Computer) system. Depending on the HPC architecture hundreds or thousands of computation nodes are working in parallel. The scheduler of the HPC front-end node manages different queues (parallel, serial, test, etc.) of the job execution. The multitude of data series captured periodically with several tens of thousands of samples creates a set of several dozen variables for each computation node. The healthiness of the whole HPC system is a temporal concept in the term of 2D or 4D multidimensional time-space domains. In this paper we propose a healthiness evaluation method for each execution queue of a two different HPC system with 20 TFLOP/s and 5 TFLOP/s computation capacities, respectively. Time independent community structure is determined and controlled based on multiple similarity measures and ANN (Artificial Neural Network) based SOM (Self-Organized Map) algorithm. For each cluster of variables is determined a representing variable, including time specific and global characteristics of the own cluster. The resulting set of representing variables contains less than ten dissimilar time series. Wavelet methods are used for extreme event detection in time of each representing variable. The surprise event detection in time of the HPC execution queues is based on the simultaneity of extreme event fingerprints.

Dátum:2022
ISSN:1787-5021 1787-6117
Megjegyzések:A method is presented for generating random numbers with uniform distribution using linear recurrence sequences with very large period lengths. This method requires an irreducible polynomial modulo 2 to define the sequence. A suitable method for generating an infinite number of such polynomials is presented. The polynomials generated in this way can have an arbitrarily large degree, and a large enough order to make them suitable for practical applications.

Cím:Multi dimensional analysis of sensor communication processes / Mohmamed Amine Korteby, Zoltán Gál, Péter Polgár
Dátum:2021
ISSN:1787-5021 1787-6117
Megjegyzések:The Internet of Things requires communication mechanism to be optimal not only from the data transfer but from the energy consumption point of view, too. One of the most analyzed types of the sensor network is Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) system depending on the population density, algorithm of cluster head election, heterogeneity of the energy and physical position of the nodes, velocity of the sink node, data aggregation rate and size of the data frame. Complexity of the system has been analyzed based on status data series of 360 simulation cases. New family of wireless sensor network (WSN) system is proposed with name CB-LEACH, having better characteristics than the classical LEACH system. The service ability of sensor network and dependency properties was done with analytic technique based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). Using this method there were identified most important modes serving as basis to regenerate responses of the studied sensor systems. It was found that the number of significant modes is just six. The novelty of the paper is a proof of concept that SVD is a useful multidimensional tool which can be used for describing the behavior of the newly proposed CB-LEACH family of sensor network mechanisms.

Dátum:2013
ISSN:1787-5021 1787-6117
Megjegyzések:We can use a variety of encryption standards to encrypt data traffic to ensure the safety of wireless networks. The question is to what extent the security of the network affects network performance. For answering this question, experiments were performed without data encryption, and the use of various encryption standards. IEEE 802.11g and 802.11n wireless networking standards were used in the experiment. The answer of the question is that encryption should be used because it does not cause significantly slowerspeed.

Cím:Designing structured cabling systems documentation and model by using Building Information Modeling - Literature review / Sergey Pogorelskiy, Imre Kocsis
Dátum:2024
ISSN:1787-5021 1787-6117
Megjegyzések:Offices, airports, factories and universities requires a local area network that combines computers, telephones, and peripheral equipment. A basis of computer network is a structured cabling system with the main elements as follows: telecommunication cabinets, copper and optical panels, cable lines and cable trays. The design of structured cabling systems as parts of complex building engineering systems-similarly to many engineering systems-is usually carried out by computer-aided design programs. This approach has a number of disadvantages. Therefore, more and more attention has recently been paid to the use of Building Information Modeling concept not only for the design of buildings and their engineering systems but also for the operation of them ([15, 20, 23, 26]). In a recent work, we touched upon the issue of designing telecommunication cabinets and the equipment inside them in the Building Information Modeling environment. We developed a novel 3D model of cabinets, which has a number of distinctive features: (1) the ability to select the equipment installed in a particular unit in the properties; (2) the ability to change and add equipment inside the cabinet; (3) automated creation of schemes for facades of cabinets and equipment inside; (4) automated creation of equipment specifications in cabinets [18]. Also, we analyzed the use of cable trays for modeling cable lines and found an optimal way to build tray routes and their elements. The goal of our further study is to build up the entire design cycle process using all the necessary elements in Building Information Modeling and then use the model during the operation. Till now there is only a small part of the research covers topics related to use Building Information Modeling for engineering systems. The authors aim to fill this gap with a qualitative analysis of the existing literature and the application of Building Information Modeling in information technology. The methodology includes several steps: Traditional literature review on the use of Building Information Modeling in the design and management of facilities in the field of engineering systems and then qualitative analysis of researchers content related to the design of engineering systems. The qualitative investigation of the literature has identified five main areas of Information and Communications Technology where Building Information Modeling tools and methodologies are used, namely (1) analysis of cabling systems; (2) production of working drawings; (3) optimized data center design; (4) preparation of documentation and models for further facility management; (5) monitoring system parameters. Literary sources have different degrees of correlation with the main research questions: weak, medium, and strong. In our study, we used medium and strong correlated topics of the study. The ultimate goal is to find an optimal solution to designing structured cabling systems documentation and model by using Building Information Modeling with the improvement of techniques available in the relevant literature.

Dátum:2023

Megjegyzések:In this work we present our results from benchmarking Singularity containers running scientific calculations intended for HPC at three levels of complexity, comparing them against native software environments. Our investigations were run on up-to-date hardware and the latest available software as of early 2023. To get a more detailed picture, we examined three different system aspects: we ran separate benchmarks on CPU, memory, and I/O intensive operations. These aspects were tested with microbenchmarks, and at a high level - an HPC workload pipeline which intensely loaded each aspect. As a result of our investigations we show that Singularity containerization continues to provide as good, or in some cases even better performance indicators as in a native environment - with the substantial added benefits of application flexibility and portability.
