Megjegyzések:Jordan which is located in the heart of the world contains hundreds of historical and archaeological locations that have a supreme potential in enticing visitors. The impact of clime is important on many aspects of life such as the development of tourism and human health, tourists always wanted to choose the most convenient time and place that have appropriate weather circumstances. The goal of this study is to specify the preferable months (time) for tourism in Jordan regions. Neural network has been utilized to analyze several parameters of meteorologist (raining, temperature, speed of wind, moisture, sun radiation) by analyzing and specify tourism climatic index (TCI) and equiponderate it with THI index. The outcomes of this study shows that the finest time of the year to entice tourists is " April" which is categorized as to be "extraordinary" for visitors. TCI outcomes indicates that conditions are not convenient for tourism from July to August because of high temperature.

Megjegyzések:This paper presents the design and implementation of a full size assistance robot. Its main purpose it to assist a person and eventually avoid a life threatening situation. Its implementation revolves around a chipKIT Arduino board that interconnects a robotic base controller with a 7 inch TABLET PC and various sensors. Due to the Android and Arduino combination, the robot can interact with the person and provide an easy development platform for future improvement and feature adding. The TABLET PC is Webcam, WIFI and Bluetooth enabled, offering a versatile platform that is able to process data and in the same time provide the user a friendly interface.

Megjegyzések:Wireless clients are usually placed into private address realm (private network) in the Internet. The clients in the private address realm are able to communicate to each other in the same private network, and using special boxes (NAT boxes) the clients can also communicate to the public internet. This solution "hides" the wireless clients from the outside public internet world: they are unreachable from the outside world, or from other private networks. In special situations the requirement of the direct connection between two wireless clients (located in different private networks) may occur. One widely used solution for this kind of problem is the special configuration of the NAT boxes (called "port forwarding"), but also there are many cases, where the NAT box configuration is not allowed (e.g. the applied security policy does not allow it).In this paper we would like to introduce a software based solution for the mentioned situation: The solution (named UDPTUN) establishes a direct tunnel connection between two clients located in different private networks (without changing or touching the configuration of the NAT boxes).

Megjegyzések:The trouble-free moving of wireless clients between access points (i.e. "roaming") is a basic requirement in wireless sensor networks (e.g. when the sensor is attached to a moving object). The network layer roaming issues a problem to solve: the IP address is changed during the roaming, so basically it would close all the running communication sessions. The Mobile IP specification offers a solution idea for this problem by keeping the old IP address, and establishing a tunnel between the "old" and the "new" network. In this solution the optimality of the communication is lost: The path between the peers must travel through the "old" network, so the triangle inequality holds.In this paper we introduce a new idea for wireless network layer roaming, which ensures the usage of the optimal path and also guarantees that the network connection will not be lost during the IP address changing.

Megjegyzések:The main aim of the present paper is to draw the attentionof the readers of this special issue to the modelingissues of sensor networks. The novelty of this investigation is the introduction of servers vacation combined with priority customers for finite-source retrial queues and its application to wireless sensor networks. In this paper we analyze a priority finite-source retrial queue with repeated vacations. Two types of priority customers are defined, customers with priority 1 (P1) go directly to an ordinary FIFO queue. However, if customers with priority 2 (P2) find the server in busy or unavailable state go to the orbit. These customers stay in the orbit and retry their request until find the server in idle and available state. We assume that P1 customers have non-preemptive priority over P2 customers. The server starts with a listening period and if no customer arrive during this period it will enter in the vacation mode. When the vacation period is terminated, then the node wakes up. If there is a P1 customer in the queue the server begin to serve it, and when there is no any P1 customer, the node will remain awake for exponentially distributed time period. If that period expires without arrivals the node will enter in the next sleeping period. All random variables involved in model construction are supposed to be independent and exponentially distributed ones. Our main interest is to give the main steady-state performance measures of the system computed by the help of the MOSEL tool. Several Figures illustrate the effect of input parameters on the mean response time.

Megjegyzések:Every WiFi, ZigBee or Bluetooth compatible radio chip provides a byte of information related to the received signal strength (RSS), the so called received signal strength index (RSSI). In a given point in space, on a specific radio channel, the RSS has a unique value at a given moment in time. Still, radio chips produced by different manufacturers will report different RSSI numbers. So RSSI is only related to, but not identical to RSS. In this paper, a formula that relates RSS and RSSI is derived. The validity of this theoretical assumption is tested on various vendors' data. For Microchip's MRF24WB radio chip the testing is done experimentally.

Megjegyzések:The main goal of this paper is to present some experimental results regarding power factor (PF) and current total harmonic distortions (THDi) of some very common loads on low voltage a.c. lines i.e. the power supply of computers, monitors and TV sets. The causes of some unexpected values are investigated and some physically meaningful explanations are delivered. The impact of the output current value on PF is emphasized thus proving that one single PF value cannot fully qualify a SMPS. It is also proven that harmonic analysis based THDi values may be very misleading if inter-harmonic components are neglected. Finally an old concept, of renewed interest, the dependency of THDi on PF is revisited.

Megjegyzések:In spite of the large amount of papers covering topics related to wireless sensor networks, a comprehensive overview of hardware platforms used to implement the network nodes is missing. There are several papers presenting particular approaches to implement wireless sensor nodes, there are also a few papers giving a brief presentation of hardware platform evolution in the last decade. This paper gives a survey of available hardware platforms, overviews their sensing, computing and communicating capabilities and focuses on the devices used to implement these platforms.

Megjegyzések:This paper presents an Open PlatformTelepresence Robot developed by authors. The main goal was todevelop an Open Platform for development of telepresence orassistive robots. The system has two main parts, a PC applicationfor the users of the robot, and the robot itself. A friendly GUIwas developed in order to control and track the machine. Therobot is built using an iRobot Roomba as the base platform. Therobot's main component is an FPGA based ZYBO developmentboard that it is connected to a lot of peripherals. It runs anUbuntu Linux operating system, which provides a solid base forthe software. The PC application and the robot software arecommunicating with each other, using a unique protocoldeveloped by authors. The robot also has a lot of useful features, such as remote controlled or autonomous movement, obstacle detection and avoidance, video streaming of the on board camera images, etc. Such a robot it is intended to be used for daily life assistance of older adults or persons with different type of disabilities.
