Megjegyzések:This paper demonstrates how the parallel examination of distributional data and frame semantic information can expose word senses that are not documented in FrameNet. In our case study, we compare the distributional features of the word crime to its properties stored in the FrameNet database also considering dictionary data that we find in three online monolingual dictionaries. Our analysis indicates that crime has senses that are absent from FrameNet. The five senses that we identify can be separated on the basis of (a) frame hierarchies, (b) frame elements, (c) syntactic and semantic data extracted from corpora using lexicographical tools and (d) distributional similarity. Annotated examples are provided to demonstrate each sense.

Megjegyzések:The aim of the present study is to provide a general overview of multimodal corpora along with their annotation tools and schemes. In the first section an introduction is given to justify the necessity of multimodal approach not only in linguistics and communication studies but also in dialog modeling. Following the justification and the definition of multimodal corpora, three relatively well-known corpora are presented and compared. The considerable differences in their platforms and schemes highlight the necessity of standardization in order to enhance the usability and interoperability of their resulting datasets. Finally, the limitations of multimodal corpus studies are briefly listed.

Megjegyzések:Concordia, the goddess of unity and harmony, was an important figure in the coinage of the age of soldierEmperors, the period between Severus Alexander's death (235) and Diocletian's accession to the throne (284).The representation of Concordia became especially frequent during the second half of the period, in the reign ofAurelian and Probus, when her military aspect was emphasized. Before this era Concordia was represented witha patera and a cornucopiae, but from Claudius Gothicus and Aurelian ensigns started to be her most frequent attributes. However, these representations can not be seen as entirely new phenomena since their elements hadbeen parts of the coinage system for centuries. The difference might be highlighted by two major aspects: theprevalence of Concordia and the prevalence of her attributes. The article makes an attempt to give an overview of this transformation.

Megjegyzések:This paper aims to present the organization of the narrative text through a structural analysis of Guy de Maupassant's Farce normande, with respect to the system of characters. The study of this short story examines the possible division of the text into sub-units at two different levels. At the first level, the textual analysis considers the elements of the surface, in connection with the division of the text into what we call scenes (scℓenes). At the second level, the narratological approach reflects the deep structure of the text, and offers a division into segments, using A. J. Greimas's actantial model. This study shows a possible approach for the structural analysis of a literary text, and may serve as a basis for a typology on a larger corpus. Keywords: narratology, actantial model, short story
