Megjegyzések:In this era of rapid climate change, heat stress has emerged as a major problem for sheep farming. The quantity and quality of sheep production, as well as the welfare, are all shown to be negatively impacted by heat stress. Reduced cellular immune function in sheep exposed to high temperatures increases susceptibility to various diseases, although the underlying mechanisms are unclear. The imbalance between oxidants and antioxidants, known as oxidative stress, negatively impacts animal health due to heat stress-induced impairments in immune responses, increased production of reactive oxygen species, and/or a lack of antioxidants. Heat stress in livestock has negative effects on both the cell-mediated and humoral immune responses. However, the negative effects of heat stress on immune response in sheep can vary by breed. This review discusses how heat stress affects sheep's immunity. An overview of some molecular markers related to immunity, such as interleukin (ILs), Toll-like receptors (TLRs), and also the heat stress protein (HSPs) in sheep, is also discussed. Finally, recent researchon the effects of antioxidant supplementation and other promising nutritional strategies for reducing heat stress and improving animal health is presented.

Cím:Contribution of Feeding Processes to the Environmental Impact of Broiler Chicken P roduction / Kiss Nikolett Éva, Tamás János, Nagy Attila
Dátum:2022
ISSN:1841-9364 2344-4576
Megjegyzések:The environmental impact of broiler chicken production was evaluated in this study utilizing life cycle analysis (LCA). The research examined at 11 different impact categories (abiotic depletion potential for elements (ADPe); abiotic depletion potential of fossil fuels (ADPf); acidifcation potential (AP); eutrophication potential (EP); global warming potential (GWP); ozone layer depletion potential (ODP); photochemical oxidation potential (POP); human toxicity potential (HTP); fresh water aquatic ecotoxicity potential (FAETP); marine aquatic ecotoxicity potential (MAETP); terrestrial ecotoxicity potential (TETP)). The goal of the study was to determine the environmental critical points in broiler production for each impact category, as well as the contribution of feed and related processes to the environmental burden when compared to transportation, natural gas and electricity consumption, and other chicken house processes. The results show that feed and related activities were the largest contributors to the environmental burden in the case of 8 out of 11 impact categories (ADPe, AP, EP, GWP, POP, FAETP, HTP, TETP). In fact, animal feeding contributed more than 80% to five of these impact categories (AP, EP, POP, FAETP, and TETP). Natural gas consumption and transportation processes were the main contributing activities for the ADPf and ODP impact categories, whereas electricity consumption was the main contributing activity for MAETP.

Cím:Oilseeds as a perspective in the nutrition on dairy farm / Agnes Suli, Bela Beri, János Csapo, Elizabet Berecz
Dátum:2017

Megjegyzések:In the last decades many researches were made to change the milk product food's composition. The production of better fat-compound milk and dairy products became a goal in the name of health conscious nutrition. Our researches were motivated by non-adequate milk fat's compound. With the optimal supplement of the feed can be increased the proportion of the polyunsaturated fatty acids and can decreased the unsaturated fatty acids. The object of our experiment to study the effect of natural-based feed additives, such as oilseeds (whole linseed, extruded linseed, whole rapeseed) on the fatty acid composition of milk fat. Further information was gained about of oilseeds in specific amounts to be fitted into technology of an intensive dairy farm in practice. The feed supplements were whole, untreated rapeseed and linseed and cold extruded linseed as a part of total mixed ration. The level of the processing of feed supplements affected the fatty acid composition of milk fat. The effect of full fat linseed feed supplement was more significant than that of the cold extruded linseed, in the increase of the polyunsaturated fatty acids, with special regard to the increase of the ?-linolenic acid proportion. Out of the full fat oilseeds the feeding of full fat rapeseed did not result in a considerable change in the fatty acid composition of milk fat. After applying full fat linseed as feed supplement, the proportion of ?-linolenic acid, a conjugated linoleic acid, an eicosadienoic acid and a docosapentaenoic acid increased in the fatty acid composition of milk fat, while the concentration of many saturated fatty acids reduced.
