Megjegyzések:	The main objective of this paper is to report the effect of grazing intensity on the diversity of ground- dwelling spiders. The study was conducted in grassy and shrubby habitats of the Somhegy-Bükk pasture of the Mátra Mountains in Hungary, where grazing is considered as an experimental management. We found significant effects of grazing on spider communities. Meadow diversity increased during moderate graz - ing compared to the pre-treatment diversity. Species diversity decreased during intensive grazing. Spider diversity of shrub decreased during both moderate and intensive grazing. We compared grazing in shrub and meadow habitats with control habitats in case of intensive grazing. Our result showed that the control habi - tats had higher diversity than the grazing habitats. Spider species had narrow tolerance for habitat naturalness in the moderately grazed habitats. We could conclude that grazing is an effective grassland management ac - tion to increase spider diversity in the Somhegy-Bükk pasture. Lowering the grazing intensity is necessary in order to save and maintain the high spider diversity. Finally, there is no optimal grazing intensity for all habitats because spiders of shrubs and meadows responded differently to grazing

Megjegyzések:	We examined spatiotemporal distribution of isopods along four Hungarian highways (M1, M3, M5, M7) while accounting for sampling years and seasons in relation to climatic conditions of highways. Isopods were collected with double-glass pitfall traps in a total of 24 sites for three years. Isopod abundance followed the trend of temporal increasing average temperature and precipitation. Conversely, isopod diversity followed a different trend in all sampling years, which clearly demonstrated the effects of annual and seasonal change of climate. Examining isopods spatial distribution we found that high temperature have a positive effect on isopod diversity. Ecological parameters in different sampling years and seasons varied strongly in relation to locality of highways, bacause of ecological factors the landscape surrounding highways. The number of generalists decreased, while the number of specialists increased with sampling years. Highway verges have special isopod communities that consist of colonizer species and displaced native species. Consequently, our result shows decreasing biodiversity and increasing isopod abundance on highway verges which are affected by adventive species, temperature, precipitation, adjacent areas and disturbance level.
