Megjegyzések:It is a common assumption that taking a mathematics course and passing the exam means that one has mastered the course requirements and gained a sufficiently deep understanding of the course material. According to the communication part of the Van Hiele Theory, if someone does not reach the expected entry-level, they won't be able to develop during the course. In our research, we investigated this contradiction in the field of geome try. We examined this phenomenon with mathematics major and pre-service mathematics teacher students during their first geometry course.

Megjegyzések:In this paper we consider a generalized polynomial f:R->R of degree two that satisfies the additional equation f(x)f(y)=0 for the pairs (x,y) in D, where D subset of R(sup{2}) is given by some algebraic condition. In the particular cases when there exists a positive rational m fulfilling D={(x,y) in R(sup{2}) | x(sup{2}) - my(sup{2}) = 1}, we prove that f(x)=0 for all x in R.

Cím:A possible general approach of the Apollonius problem with the help of GeoGebra / Budai László

Megjegyzések:The Apollonius problem is one of the circle tangency problems that the eponymous Apollonius the "greatest Greek geometer" himself dealt with first and solved in general. Since then many people in many ways dealt with the problem. The new geometry is looking for ways to find simpler solutions for the problem differing from the draw up of elementary geometry. The current abstract shortly describes the frequent possible solution methods and more particularly deals with the three dimensional geometric solution methods as well as the practicability with the use in GeoGebra.

Megjegyzések:The classical coin tossing experiment is studied. Limit theorems are obtained concerning the head-runs containing certain number of tails. It is proved that the limit of the number of those runs of length n which contain at most T tails is compound Poisson. Accompanying distributions are obtained for the length of the longest head-runs containing at most T tails. To this end a two parameter family of accompanying distributions is offered.

Megjegyzések:Using connected transversals we determine the six-dimensional indecomposable solvable Lie groups with five-dimensional nilradical and their subgroups which are the multiplication groups and the inner mapping groups of three-dimensional connected simply connected topological loops. Together with this result we obtain that every six-dimensional indecomposable solvable Lie group which is the multiplication group of a three-dimensional topological loop has one-dimensional centre and two- or three-dimensional commutator subgroup.

Megjegyzések:The necessity of digital image processing and its teaching have risen dramatically in the past few years. Besides the appearance of digital cameras, the general use of smart phones suitable for making photos made it possible for anybody any time to take snapshots of the important events of their lives. Through social community networks (for example Twitter or Facebook) we can share our photos with our friends and acquaintances. The Internet craze makes computers attractive for youngsters and we have to reconsider some different forms of education in the world of emails and chatting radically. It refers to the fact that better and better digital teaching materials and their e-Book counterparts appear in increasing numbers. They try to surpass the traditional curriculum and get young people to study in this way as well. In the present paper, which is part of a forthcoming series of articles we are looking for novel ways and opportunities of teaching digital image processing in secondary schools in this spirit and presenting the first chapter of the digital learning material developed by ourselves.

Megjegyzések:We examined the evolution of the van Hiele level of some study groups specialized in mathematics from 2015 to 2018, then selected two of these groups and measured the students' proof skills by Zalman Usiskin's proof test. We examined whether students were able to read from the text of the statement the given fact and the fact to be proved, whether they were able to draw a figure and, using the labels, whether they were able to perform a simple proof requiring 2-3 steps.

Megjegyzések:First I'd like to write about the idea of mathematical competence andmake clear its components, according to the 2000 Lisbon Resolution of theEuropean Union. That, and the results of the first PISA examination implicateda development work in our country, and as a result we now have newtypes of competence-based school-books, and the methodological culture ofteachers is under reformation too. But these changes are not uniformly welcomeamong teachers. There is a kind of contradiction between traditionaland competence-based education and evaluation ? so I tried to match the twotypes with measuring the present level of competence of secondary school students,and upon that work out development methods, in which the defects ofthe knowledge can be supplied.The students solved an exercise-paper with 5 exercises (practical, playful,needs many different abilities and skills, but less knowledge, both simple andcomplex) in 45 minutes. I made two types of measurements ? a traditionallyused method which measures the mathematical achievement , and another,which measures the level of skills and competences. I analysed the resultswith comparing the achievements with the competences to show how themathematical skills prevail among achievements. I show this analysis withgraphs in my paper. According to the results of the measurement, we candeclare the main areas of development. At the end of my paper I'd like toshow how I plan the follow-up of this examination.
