Megjegyzések:Starting from a student-centre educational policy research approach (Kozma 2009, ESU 2012), this paper is discussing issues linked to the concept of equity in higher education in two EU member countries, Hungary and Romania. I analyse the way of looking at special students, confronting the policy conceptions with the students` perceptions. My objective was to explore the collegial attitudes of students toward their non-traditional peers and to define specific types of preferences. The first part of the study is an overview of the higher educational policy in Romania and Hungary, aiming to find out what kind of chance equality and compensation practices do they put into effect, and identify similarities and differences between them. The second part of the research is based on empirical data from two surveys of student population conducted by CHERD-Hungary in the cross border region in the period 2012-2015. The hypothesis was based on previous research outcome related to the cross border area (Pusztai ? Szabo 2014), that students' way of looking at special groups is not homogeneous. The results of my research confirm this and I identified that student perceptions have any latent structure, which can be a basis for establishing possible future research directions.

Megjegyzések:Our research aims to explore what transformations happened in the academic world of Pedagogy during the sixty years (1912-1970) marked with many changes. We analysed the manifestations of the personal, structural and professional continuity and discontinuity of the professorship of the history of the department of Pedagogy of a university. During the research we worked with the academic documents and sources of the archives. We were able to lean upon the accounts and reminiscences of witnesses of the period who are still alive today. Sacred to the memory of Professor Mitter, we would like to enrich the repertoire of the researches of sociological transformations with an instance of an institutional history.

Megjegyzések:Most Education systems propose policies in pro of the benefit of society. However, successful application of these is unknown in consequence considering teachers voices is needed to understand the situations in the classroom. This study analyzes some English language teachers' stories that served the purpose to construct themselves as professionals of language education facing the dichotomy of inclusion and exclusion placed by the mandates of the Colombian education system. The theme of Language Teacher Subjectivities, in this article, is conceptualized and discussed as the alternative's teachers have within their reach to use their own theories regarding language teaching and learning. Reflecting retrospectively and prospectively on meaningful school experiences related to the language teaching activity to tackle the dichotomy, the research question that guided this study was: What do language teachers' narratives portray about their professional subjectivities in relation to inclusion? From a narrative perspective, narrative interviews and a professional life history timeline was analyzed using short story analysis focusing on when, when and who as meaningful in the data and finding that the participants comply with the multidimensional view of the subject. The narratives depicted that the corporal dimension, social-affective dimension, cognitive dimension, and ethic-moral dimension are part of the teachers' professional subjectivities in the frame of Colombian inclusion policy

Dátum:2016
ISSN:2062-9605 2064-2199
Megjegyzések:Oral feedback to learners in foreign language learning has been in the focus of attention of researchers for a long time. While research in second language acquisition (SLA) has classified various types of oral corrective feedback and explored their perceptions by learners (e.g. Ellis & Sheen, 2006) as well as their effectiveness (e.g. Lyster & Ranta, 1997; Lyster & Saito, 2010), the role of oral feedback has also been discussed in the context of general pedagogy, where it has been promoted as an integral part of formative assessment, or assessment for learning (Black & Wiliam, 1998; Boud & Falchikov, 2006; Carless, 2006, 2007). According to the latter view, oral feedback is regarded as a form of assessment of learner performance, which can be characterised by a collaborative and interaction-based approach and is expected to be meaningful, constructive and motivating for learners. In this paper, an attempt is made to relate the SLA findings to general pedagogy in order to make recommendations for the use of oral corrective feedback in the foreign language classroom.

Cím:Focus on the dropout students' secondary school experience and career orientation / Cintia Csók, Anett Hrabéczy, Dóra Katalin Németh
Dátum:2019
ISSN:2062-9605 2064-2199
Megjegyzések:We examined the characteristics of the respondents before entering higher education along with the clusters. We have discovered the characteristics of secondary school studies and further education, the circumstances for applying for higher education. During the analysis of secondary school studies, we took into account the type of class they studied in high school (in Hungary, they can study in high school, vocational high school, and secondary school), and how many times they changed school. In addition, we compared the results based on school maintainers. There is a significant correlation between the reasons for high-school experience and the dropout rate. In terms of cluster-based differences, it should be emphasized that the expectation of social mobility was overrepresented among the dropouts due to financial reasons and work, but it was also an important aspect that they did not have to pay a fee in the program where they studied. In addition, in the case of those who were disappointed in training and further education, it was most common to apply to the university because they did not want to work and could afford it. Our results can help to develop more effective dropout protection for students entering higher education, both in public and higher education institutions and career orientation.
