Megjegyzések:The purpose of the study is to indicate nativity status differences (native-born and foreign-born) by gender based on labour market status. The primaryobjective is to explore the labour market status differences in terms of nativity status based on a gender perspective of labour status. A quantitative research approach was applied to this study. Linear Regression analysis and Trend Analyses are used to emphasize the relationship between the native-born males/females and the foreign-born males/females in the labour market status as employed, unemployed and inactive. This study aims to answer which is higher in the case of native-born foreign-born female/male employed, unemployed, and participation rates in Western-European countries. Data was collected from OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) migration databases between 2014 and 2018 for Western European countries. It has been found that in the chosen countries, there is a linear relationship between native-born males/females and foreign-born males/females in most of the cases. If one side increases in terms of employed status or unemployed status, the other side also increases due to the existence of a significant and positive linear relationship. The findings suggest that this study implies that destination countries should create good labour market legislation to reduce the number of unemployed among both migrants and the native-born population. As very few studies have investigated gender differences in migration, this study gives a different perspective on the subject by comparing the same-gender relationship in the nativity status of the labour market.

Dátum:2023
ISSN:2071-789X 2306-3459
Megjegyzések:The study examined the manipulation level of Hungarian corporate financial statements using Beneish`s M-score model with eight variables between 2017 and 2021. The research also investigated whether the financial statement manipulations depend on the type of sector, company size and age, and region. The research sample was comprised of 32,024 financial statements each year. Statistical tests were used to compare the M-score values of several groups. The proportion of companies with possibly manipulated financial statements varied between 46.43% and 51.67% in the five years. It can be concluded that the manipulation of Hungarian companies` reports is very high. The analysis showed that the ratios of unlikely manipulated (UM) and likely manipulated (LM) reports were improved at size category 1-4, and size category five significantly improved. The comparison by regions revealed that the UM/LM indicator is lower in more developed regions than in less developed ones. The results draw the attention of government decision-makers to pay more attention to checking financial statements. In addition, it shows to the companies` stakeholders that the reliability of the financial statements must also be considered during their decision preparations and risk assessment.

Cím:Can Internet in schools and technology adaption stimulate productivity in emerging markets? / D. Máté, E. Erdei, V. Zeynvand, J. Popp, J. Oláh
Dátum:2020
ISSN:2071-789X
Megjegyzések:This study investigates whether access to the Internet in schools and the share of its users stimulate productivity development in emerging markets in the period from 2007 to 2016. Following the rise of new endogenous theories, the opposition appeared in the empirical approaches related to the role of ICTs. The analysis is based on distinctive variables and various competitiveness pillars from the datasets published by the World Bank and the World Economic Forum. The empirical findings from the dynamic (GMM) regressions affirm that the interaction to the Internet access in schools, fixed broadband penetration and the latest available technologies affect productivity growth. However, mobile broadband subscription is negatively related to productivity. Hence, the support of competitiveness goals through larger access to the Internet in education, the improved fixed Internet broadband and the absorption of new technologies can make emerging markets more competitive and sustain productivity growth in the long run.

Cím:The role of regional differences in immigration: the case of OECD countries / Máté D., Sarihasan I., Popp J., Oláh J.
Dátum:2018
ISSN:2071-789X
Megjegyzések:Despite physical, cultural, economic and other obstacles, millions of people have recently emigrated from one country to another in search of a better life. Consequently, the importance of this research topic has grown over time. Analysis of this regional approach is based on the OECD censuses, and its unique Database on Immigrants (DIOC), which makes it possible to generate a wide variety of cross-tabulations on the characteristics of asylum-seekers by the country of their birth. The aim of this study is to contribute to literature by analysing the role of regional differences in migration more closely in terms of the importance of migration regulation policies in the OECD countries. According to the results based on Binary Logistic (Logit) and Linear (OLS) Regression models, the educational attainment, age, sex and the place of birth of migrants are related in different ways to their region of origin. Moreover, male migrants are more skilled than females, migrants who are more educated are older than the less skilled, and foreign-born migrants seemed to be older than native-born migrants. There is also additional evidence suggesting that different regions and countries might follow different policies and norms for admission of migrants. Therefore, forthcoming migration governance programs that aim to facilitate the labour market integration of migrants should also take into consideration their regional characteristics

Cím:The importance of the leadership functions of a high-reliability health care organization in managing the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey / Imran Sarihasan, Krisztina Dajnoki, Judit Oláh, Main Al-Dalahmeh
Dátum:2022
ISSN:2071-789X 2306-3459
Megjegyzések:This study aims to demonstrate how senior leadership applies to high-reliability organizations' functions when managing the Coronavirus pandemic in healthcare organizations and extend the current research by focusing on identifying which functions are more important for the leadership when managing crises in healthcare organizations. To achieve the aim of the study, a qualitative research approach was applied with well-known statistical analyses. Descriptive statistics were applied to determine the characteristics of variables. A correlation matrix shows the relationship between variables, while explanatory factor analyses were employed to determine the reliability of the variables. Ordinary least square regression analysis was used to emphasize the relationship between the role of leadership and different functions in high reliability healthcare organizations in Turkey. It has been found that the role of leadership has a positive and significant relationship with organizational safety, organizational trust, collective mindfulness, flexibility, and communication functions. In addition, the importance of leadership in healthcare organizations will improve many functions in an effective and professional manner, which is reflected in the reduction of the spread of Coronavirus which has been found among workers and in different environments.
