Megjegyzések:In our study, by simulating the model of an apple producing firm, we investigated how the availability of postharvest establishments influences the economic efficiency of production. The results of our analysis highlighted the fact that by possessing cold storage and introducing an extended selling period, a producing enterprise may make higher profits (NPV) of 40 to 50% during the lifetime of the investment than if without such postharvest mechanisms. In the investigated case, however, because of the huge capital requirement at the beginning, the internal rate of return (IRR) was somewhat unfavourable. However, in the case of own, ready and running postharvest establishments, better investment economic efficiency parameters (from 40 ? 120 %) may be reached. Thus the capital need for investment is much lower for the producing enterprise, but the price advantage of the extended selling period remains.

Megjegyzések:The global dairy sector is currently going through a period of turbulence. Global human population growth is substantially increasing the demand for dairy products. Our study stresses the importance of the dairy industry in the agriculture of the Ukraine and its national economy. It aims at identifying and describing the latest trends in the Ukrainian dairy industry. While the Ukrainian dairy sector is currently dealing with a number of challenges, we are looking for a number of opportunities for Ukrainian dairy producers to strengthen their competitiveness in the EU and global market, as well as maintain and expand their position on the domestic market. The dairy industry is one of the major industries in the Ukraine and, before the crisis, this segment demonstrated a trend towards its active development, but the situation in the dairy sector has become more complicated since 2014. The biggest problem for the dairy sector was the loss of the Russian market, which accounted for about 80% of exports of dairy products. However, the growth of cow productivity became a significant achievement of the dairy sector. Today, the main challenge for the dairy industry is finding new export markets and developing existing markets.

Megjegyzések:The concentration analysis of the agricultural and rural development subsidies in the Southern Great Plain Region were carried out in two periods, in the budget periods of 2004-2006 and 2007-2013, respectively. There is a difference experienced in the concentration between 2004 and 2006; however, the concentration is more balanced with respect to each year. In the regional values the fact may be realized that the share of farmers from the subsidy is balanced. In the period between 2007 and 2013 even the minimal difference in the concentration disappeared relating to the examined years. The value of the concentration index, that is the share of the three performers getting the highest subsidies of the total, proves the run of Lorenz curves, as the indicator has been reflecting an average value around 10% in the region since 2006 in each year. By evaluating the data relating to the subsidies in the Southern Great Plain Region, the fact may be concluded that the concentration became equalized in the examined area.

Megjegyzések:Family farming is not only a business, but also a lifestyle where insistence on independency, decision-making and rural area is strong. Therefore, focusing on this issue has prior importance in context of rural development and agriculture. During the research the main question was how farmers from Karcag considered family farming situation. What do they think the greatest advantages and disadvantages of a family farm are? What does their effectiveness depend on? How much is it worth working in family farming? How attractive is this form of business to the young? Under what conditions may family farming provide secure future prospects? On this basis family farming had become an approved form of business. Type of activity and scale of production have significant impacts on the efficiency in farming. The current grant system may not be sufficient to the stabilization and development of family farms; therefore, family farming under the current agricultural policy is not too enticing to the young.

Megjegyzések:Regulations of new CAP reforms moving from product to producer support and now to a more land based approach. This is in response to the challenges facing the sector, many of which are driven by factors that are external to agriculture. These have been identified as economic, environmental and territorial. To achieve these long-term goals, the existing CAP instruments had to be adapted. The reform therefore focused on the operational objectives of delivering more effective policy instruments, designed to improve the competitiveness of the agricultural sector and its sustainability over the long term. Accordingly there is a great need to restructure the formal crop rotation and to introduce new alternative crops as food industrial crops and vegetables. Both cases have high invested special asset and manual work requirement. This paper as a case study gives an analysis of oil pumpkin seed production, which serves as an example of economic and technological planning a formal crop production farm over 100 hectares. The new crop was introduced as a possibility to face with diversification under the new CAP regime of greening. The economic analysis covers five years of production and financial data on the basis of the given crop rotation.

Megjegyzések:The general objective of this study is to present the main problems, potential outlooks and challenges of the Hungarian dairy sector in connection with the general social and economic situation. Problems that have been implicated as playing a role in the low competitiveness of Hungarian dairy supply chain arise from the internal capabilities of the sector and the country. Most of these problems are relative and emerge when it comes to comparison with competitors. It is a fact that Hungary, regarding its current position, has become a potential market offered by dominant milk producing member states in the EU and existing, traditional dairy product brands have been mostly lost to foreign companies. This follows directly from low self-sufficiency, unexploited quota looking back to several subsequent years and unfavourable export/import structure (raw consumer milk is dominant in export, whereas high value-added processed products in import) in Hungary. As a result of the abolition of the EU milk quota system, milk production may rearrange in the EU, posing a serious threat unless the competitiveness of Hungarian dairy supply chain is improved.

Megjegyzések:The study deals with the questions and problems of the succession of generations concerningfamily enterprises, discussing the main succession issues. On a world scale most of the family businesses donot survive the first generation, thus succession has become the most important problem. This is the reasonwhy the succession of generations has become the central issue of several research projects. In the diagnosticphase of the research the aim is to present the phases of succession of generations, the succession processes,their method and the possibility of processes especially characteristic of agricultural economics with the helpof secondary data, with the application of contemporary research results and a methodological approach.
