Megjegyzések:The concept of a canonical number system can be regarded as a natural gener- alization of decimal representations of rational integers to elements of residue class rings of polynomial rings. Generators of canonical number systems are CNS polynomials which are known in the linear and quadratic cases, but whose complete description is still open. In the present note reducible CNS polynomials are treated, and the main result is the characterization of reducible cubic CNS polynomials.

Megjegyzések:The periodicity of sequences of integers (an)n2Z satisfying the inequalities 0 ? an-1 + _an + an+1 < 1 (n ? Z)is studied for real _ with |_| < 2. Periodicity is proved in case _ is the golden ratio; for othervalues of _ statements on possible period lengths are given. Further interesting results on themorphology of periods are illustrated.The problem is connected to the investigation of shift radix systems and of Salem numbers.

Megjegyzések:First we give a construction of bridges derived from a general Markov process using only its transition densities. We give su?cient conditions for their existence and uniqueness (in law). Then we prove that the law of the radial part of the bridge with endpoints zero derived from a special multidimensional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processequals the law of the bridge with endpoints zero derived from the radial part of the same Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. We also construct bridges derived from generalmultidimensional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes.

Megjegyzések:In this paper we present a new one-way function with collision resistance. The security of this function is based on the difficulty of solving a norm form equation. We prove that this function is collision resistant, so it can be used as a one-way hash function. We show that this construction probably provides a family of one-way functions.

Megjegyzések:An integral analogue of the general almost sure limit theorem is presented. In the theorem, instead of a sequence of random elements, a continuous time random process is involved, moreover, instead of the logarithmical average, the integral of delta-measures is considered. Then the general theorem is applied to obtain almost sure versions of limit theorems for semistable and max-semistable processes, moreover for processes being in the domain of attraction of a stable law or being in the domain of geometric partial attraction of a semistable or a max-semistable law.

Megjegyzések:An exponential inequality for the tail of the conditional expectation of sums of centered independent random variables is obtained. This inequality is applied to prove analogues of the Law of the Iterated Logarithm and the Strong Law of Large Numbers for conditional expectations. As corollaries we obtain certain strong theorems for the generalized allocation scheme and for the nonuniformly distributed allocation scheme.

Megjegyzések:In this paper we consider representations of algebraic integers of a number field as linear combinations of units with coef-ficients coming from a fixed small set, and as sums of elements having small norms in absolute value. These theorems can be viewed as results concerning a generalization of the so-called unit sumnumber problem, as well. Beside these, extending previous related results we give an upper bound for the length of arithmetic progressionsof t-term sums of algebraic integers having small norms in absolute value.
