Cím:Extreme events as an indicator of a changing climate Hungary as a case study / Safwan A. Mohammed, K. Alsafadi, S. Mousavi, J. Nagy, Endre Harsányi
Dátum:2019
Megjegyzések:The main aim of this research was to track the extreme events in Hungary from 1980 to 2010. To achieve the study goal, rainfall data from 220 meteorological stations -covering all the country- from CARPATCLIM (Climate of the Carpathian region) were collected. Simultaneously, datasets were checked for homogeneity by using the Mann?Kendall trend test. In the next step, the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) had been used as an indicator of extreme events. The results showed that Hungary had been hit by many extreme events. Within this context, the years:1980,1999, and 2010 were considered as disastrous years where flash floods had occurred. In contrast, the years: 1982, 1993, 1994, 2003 and 2008 subjected to unusual drought where the rainfall significantly dropped down and the SPI reach -0.4 in some stations. Interestingly, the Mann?Kendall (MK) test demonstrated a non significant positive trend for drought in most of the studied stations.
