Megjegyzések:The authors designed a study in order to evaluate the subjective components of labor pain. By using the visual analogue-scale technique they registered the severity of pain experienced by the patients at the time of cervical dilatation and bearing down as well as in the vagina and perineal region at their dismissal home. On a 50 grade scale the mean pain intensity experienced was 28, 26, and 17 respectively in due order. The severity of the pain experienced by the patient showed good correlation with the elapsed time at the various stages of labor, administration of intravenous oxytocin drip, parity, suture application and the presence of the spouse at the time of delivery.
