Cím:Investigation of incrusted pottery found in the territory of Hungary by micro-PIXE method / Gusztáv Á. Sziki, Katalin T. Biró, Imre Uzonyi, Erik Dobos, Árpád Z. Kiss
Dátum:2003
Megjegyzések:Incrusted pottery samples from the territory of Hungary were analyzed by micro-PIXE technique. Measurements were executed on the front and back side of the samples and inside the incrustations too. We succeeded to group the pottery from different regions and periods by the composition of the ornament. It was concluded that the elemental composition of the ornament may be characteristic to the provenance of the pottery. In case of samples from V€ors-Máriaasszonysziget the presence of a kind of grit in the incrustations with high calcium and phosphorus content was established. The material of the grit is presumably bone. Samples from other archaeological localities can be described by incrustations with different compositions. Incrustations in the samples from Balatonf€uz€o are presumably composed of limestone (CaCO3), from Baradla cave (Aggtelek) probably of white clay paste (kaolinite).

Cím:A new micro-DIGE set-up for the analysis of light elements / Gusztáv Á. Szíki, Imre Uzonyi, Erik Dobos, István Rajta, Katalin T. Biró, Sándor Nagy, Árpád Kiss
Dátum:2004
ISSN:0168-583X
Megjegyzések:The present work shows a relatively simple and inexpensive way of converting the sample chamber of a conventional OM type microprobe into an easily useable micro-DIGE set-up. The basic idea of the set-up is to increase the image distance of the microprobe by moving the focus out of the sample chamber into an extension tube, which is connected to the 0- port of the chamber. This new position of the focus, and so the sample, enables the use of different type of cray detectors in enlarged solid angles increasing the sensitivity of the technique. The degradation of the lateral resolution of the system as a consequence of the increased image distance was theoretically and experimentally investigated. The measured geometric spot size was 15 · 17 lm2. Archaeological and ecological applications of the new set-up are also presented here.
