Megjegyzések:	Events of fires might have many different origins and consequences. In Brazil, they can have a particular difficult level of monitoring considering the extensive area of the country and public data access in remote regions. By the use of remotely sensed data from satellites and GIS tools, this study carried out fire foci and LULC spatiotemporal analysis from 2002 to 2022, providing relevant information for the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN) - Brazil, with emphasis to the biome Caatinga which is currently at risk. Results showed that Oeste Potiguar mesoregion of RN accounted for the greater representativeness of fire foci followed by Leste Potiguar, Central Potiguar and Agreste Potiguar. Heatmaps and vector analysis showed that Mosorró microregion was the most affected by fire foci. LULC analysis for Mossoró displayed impressive area changes with great losses for the classes: mosaic of uses (pasture or agriculture), savanna formation and river, lake and ocean; and considerable expansion for: non-vegetated areas, aquaculture and mangrove. The information obtained from this study can support decision making regarding monitoring and management of the affected areas and highlighted and corroborated to the threat Caatinga currently faces.
