Megjegyzések:	This study summarizes the knowledge on the floral biology, pollination and fertilization of apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) based on the authors' research results and world literature up to the present day. Stigma receptivity and pollen production of apple flowers as well as the flowering times are different under different ecological conditons. As a result of the latter fact, the relative blooming order of apple varieties is different there and sometimes different variety association is needed to establish in orchards. As temperate zone, subtropics and tropics have various pollinator insects, their efficiency in the pollination and the pollination itself are also different in these climate zones. Fertilization often shows differences too, and time changes of fruit set and fruit drop during the season occur in different rate. Based on the scientific results this paper also discuss the possibilities in order to increase the efficiency of pollination and the rate of fruit set.
