Megjegyzések:Current milk production of the European Union is about 150 million tons and there is no sign of a global expansion. At the sametime the 2015 abandoning of the milk quota can lead to not only a highly competitive market, but can also entirely rearrangeEurope's "dairy sector map" and an expansion of production is projected. The question of the study is if it worth selling milk using adirect distribution channel besides selling to processors?To answer this question I carried out a primary and secondary collections of data. Thereafter, I created a model calculation withgiven boundary conditions concerning a small-scale dairy-farm with 20 dairy cows. The activity's sector related economic efficiencyindicators were determined based on the result of the model calculations. I set two basic models, one of them dealt only withprocessors' sale, in this case 12.8 million Ft was the margin and the production cost 72 Ft. In the case of the other model two waysof distribution are present (selling to processors and distributing with the help of a milk vending machine). Results show less marginin the latter case (12.2 million Ft). The reason for this fact is that the extra ca. 20% profit of the milk sold is eroded by the operatingcosts (vehicle, fix costs of the vending machine, rental). It is not worth to take direct sale in the distribution mechanism with thegiven conditions. Furthermore, I tried to answer when it is economically better to use vending machine opposing to the case whenmilk is sold only for processors with the help of sensitivity analysis. It is possible if either the selling price or sold quantity is standardor increase the amount of the milk sold from vending machine over 140 liters (in 150 Ft/l price) or raise the price of the milk solddirectly over 162 Ft/l (with the amount of 100 l/day).
