Megjegyzések:One of the major aims of the regional policy of the European Unionis to help reduce the existing income gap between the richer andpoorer regions (in other words to reduce the economic and territorialdisparities). The other major objective of this policy is to reinforceemployment and to deal with the problem of social exclusion (i.e. toreduce social disparities). In order to achieve these aims the Unionspends significant sums on programmes designed to realise these objectives.
