Megjegyzések:	Nowadays one of the most pressing problems of agriculture is the continuous rise of the price of fertilizers. Therefore the application and adaptation of the alternative ways of fertilization is essential to achieve a fruitful and efficient agricultural management. One of the most rational solutions for the easy and cheap way of nutrient supply is the chopping of the straw generated during crop production and mixing of it into the soil. Oilseed rape and sunflower are typically harvested without taking the crop residues away from the fields hence providing some nitrogen (and other nutrients) built in the crop residues that can be taken into account when plant nutrition is designed for the following crop. Nevertheless the amount of nitrogen getting back into the soil this way is not quantified. Furthermore the correlation between the nitrogen stocks of the soil and the nitrogen content of the crops is not widely researched. On the base of a country-wide sampling of rape and sunflower stands (116 plant- and 70 soil samples) we determined the average nitrogen content of these two crops and established the correlation between the N-supply of the soil and the N-content of the plant.

Megjegyzések:	The main goal of our study is to determine the organic carbon stocks of the croplands in theTiszafüred-Kunhegyes Plain geographical microregion of Hungary. The first step of the calculations was thespatial delimitation of the investigated microregion by means of national GIS data bases creating our own database containing the map coverages needed for the calculation of the carbon stocks. The second step was thedetermination of the cropland areas for each settlement belonging to the microregion. Then the organic carbonstocks of the specific soils of the croplands of the microregion could be calculated by two calculationmethods. We established that the carbon stock calculations based on AGROTOPO data base are moreaccurate characterizing the area better compared to the calculations with the IPCC methodology based ondefault reference data, though this latter method provides sufficient data as well if no other data sources areavailable. The carbon stock values calculated for the settlements of the microregion cannot be consideredhigh, so the application of conservation tillage including soil cultivation without ploughing and higher organicmatter input is suggested.
