Megjegyzések:With the utilization of the available potentials and technologies, geothermal energy may contribute tothe reduction of the quantities of the emitted contaminants and greenhouse gases, as well as the developmentof peripheral regions. Towards this end, such governmental measures are needed that set upa favourable regulatory environment, and put the financial funds for the support of implementation inplace so that geothermal energy resources could complement the currently used, conventional energycarriers, and more efficient settlement development could be achieved. In this context, the Universityof Debrecen and the University of Oradea have conducted joint studies with the purpose of makinga realistic assessment of geothermal energy resources in the region of S¡acueni?Létavértes and examiningthe options of long-term utilization. The research has been multidisciplinary, and thus embraced thefield of geography, geodetics, well drilling, automation, mechanical engineering and tourism. The principalgoal has been the utilization of geothermal energy with the largest possible efficiency in the areaof S¡acueni and Létavértes.

Cím:Analysis of changes in the utilization of thermal water and geothermal energy in the North Great Plain Region (Northeastern Hungary) / Balázs Kulcsár
Dátum:2012
Megjegyzések:Probably, the most urgent problem of mankind in the 21st century to find a way to satisfy the energy demand of theworld's population - having reached seven billion people in 2011 - preferably from renewable sources, by endeavouringto apply environmentally sparing methods. From Hungary's perspective, it is a goal of priority significance,as it is an area that is not abound in fossil energy resources, and thus becoming increasingly exposed to the energypolicies of the producer countries. If Hungary, which has favourable endowments in the field of renewable energyresources, lays larger emphasis on the application and processing of environmental industry technologies, theeconomic vulnerability of the country can be mitigated. This study discusses the distribution of the utilization of geothermal energy and its carrying medium, thermal wateramong the sectors of the economy, as well as its changes over time, the utilization potentials of alternative energiesin the northeastern region of Hungary. This region has outstanding facilities in the field of thermal waterand geothermal energy resources, yet their utilization rate ? with respect to the available thermal water capacities? is rather low. It is a consequence of the regulatory requirements posed on operators, high investment and maintenancecosts, the general shortage of resources, the difficult situation of the industries and municipalities, aswell as the fact that the solid and liquid media of energy storage lying at depths of thousands of meters, the methodsand potentials of exploitations, their sustainability are not or are just partly known.
