Megjegyzések:The requirements and objectives of cultivation are in constant change. There are different cultivation aims if the objective is soil protection, the prevention of its moisture content or on areas with different precipitation supply or production site endowments. Based on the experimental database of the Institute for Land Utilisation, Regional Development and Technology of the University of Debrecen, Centre for Agricultural and Applied Economic Sciences and the KITE Plc, the various cultivation systems in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok country were examined with maize as indicator plant. The sample area can be found in the outskirts of Kenderes on meadow chernozem soil. On the examined plot, spring strip basic cultivation, loosening and autumn plowing were applied on 4.5-4.5-4.5 ha, respectively. At the time of taking undisturbed soil samples, soil conductivity measurements were also performed with a Penetronik penetrometer. Undisturbed soil samples were taken from each treatment before sowing. There were more favourable soil moisture conditions in the strip cultivation alternative before sowing than in the conventional cultivation treatments. The yield obtained in the strip cultivation treatment increased that of the plowing and the loosening technology. The economic indexes are the most favourable in the strip tillage.

Megjegyzések:The more and more extreme distribution of rainfall enforces the development of the most accurate water management and soil moisture detecting possible. Monitoring and modelling are two possible solutions. The aim of our examinations was to simulate the effect of different sowing dates of maize on the soil-plant water cycle on chernozem soil in the 2009 growing season. The modelling was performed by the AGROAQUA irrigation decision support system. This study was conducted at the Látókép Experimental Station of the Centre for Agricultural and Applied Economic Sciences, Debrecen University (47?30' N, 21?36' E, 111 m asl). The investigated sowing date treatments were early sowing (ES) at 5th April, optimum sowing (OS) at 20th April and late sowing (LS) at 14th May. In the OS treatment, the soil was dried out to the wilting point at the sowing depth; water deficit was 13 mm from emergence to the end of May. From the intensive grain filling period (18th July) severe water deficiency (60?75 mm) was observed. In ES, compared to the OS treatment, water deficit was eliminated at emergence. Significant water deficit (75?90 mm) was developed after 15th July, during the grain filling phase only. At delayed sowing the water shortage of the sowing depth was significantly higher at emergence than in the ES and OS treatments. A more moderate water deficiency was simulated at silking and in the grain filling period, since the potential evapotranspiration (PET) decreased at this time.

Megjegyzések:Targeted cultivation (e.g. moisture saving tillage) is capable of improving soil fertility, while soil physical, chemical and biological processes can be influenced. The aim of cultivation has to be determined and the cultivation itself has to be applied by previously defining the tools, the tillage method and the tillage system. We set the aim to examine the impact of different basic cultivation methods on yield. In addition, we prepared the agro-economic analyses of the technologies built on each cultivation method, as well as an investment evaluation. Based on the experimental database of the Institute for Land Utilisation, Regional Development and Technology of the University of Debrecen, Centre for Agricultural and Applied Economic Sciences and the KITE Plc, various cultivation systems were examined with maize as indicator plant. Winter ploughing and strip till cultivation treatments were examined in 13 experimental locations. The yield obtained in the strip cultivation was 8.6% (0.56 t ha-1) higher. The income of the strip treatment was 42% (57 000 HUF ha-1) higher. The technological investment needed for strip tillage (basic cultivation tool, strip cleaning sowing machine, cultivator) cost about 40 million HUF. The application of strip technology on 400 ha is already profitable: the internal rate of return is 14% and the payback period is 5 years.
