Megjegyzések:	Computer-mediated communication prior to strategic decisions in a ModifiedUltimatum Game is at the centre of this paper. People agreeing with Machiavellianviews were expected to engage in manipulative communication tactics and work on persuadingtheir partners in line with their own interest to a greater extent than people whodo not share Machiavellian views, and additionally, they were expected to earn moremoney. High Machs did not appear to be more efficient in terms of earnings than LowMachs either as allocators or as recipients. Moreover, behavioural characteristicswhich can be expected from a Machiavellian person are not reflected in their communication;however, people with high scores in Machiavellianism displayed a stronger tendencyto cheat than their Low Mach fellows.Results indicated that computer-mediated interactions were insufficient for Machiavellianindividuals to persuade their partners in this specific case. Judging the role of thelack of face-to-face interactions and the role of the lack of ambiguity in forming the results, needs further exploration.
