Megjegyzések:A vállalatok működésének legfontosabb célja a fogyasztók igényeinek kielégítése, s ennek segítségével a profitszerzés. Napjainkban azonban egyre inkább előtérbe kerül, hogy e két célkitűzésen túl a szervezeteknek a társadalmi felelősségvállalás terén is van tennivalójuk. Ezzel kapcsolatban merülhet fel bennünk a kérdés, hogy vajon ezt a típusú elköteleződést és attitűdöt szükséges-e tanítani a gazdasági képzésben részt vevő hallgatóknak (s egyáltalán lehet-e), illetve hogy ettől függetlenül is: milyen mértékben jellemző rájuk ez a fajta tudatosság. Tanulmányunkban gazdasági képzésben részt vevő egyetemi hallgatókat kérdeztünk meg kettős céllal: egyrészt, hogy szerintük a vállalat célkitűzéseiben mennyire fontos a társadalmi felelősségvállalás, másrészt pedig, hogy szerintük mennyire kell ennek a szemléletmódnak az oktatásban megjelennie.

Megjegyzések:The possibility to find a job and other questions regarding to employment are important concerns even for prospective students at the time of their application to a higher education institution. Choosing a major, important selection criteria are the expectations on finding a job soon after graduation with a high wage offer and within their profession. Or main research question is how 'realistic' the examined bachelor students see their future on the job market: in what time they think they will find a job, and what wage they think they will earn? We compare two datasets to find the answer. The first data set is from a survey among bachelor level business students of the University of Debrecen, conducted in Fall 2015. The second dataset is made of the databases of the Hungarian Carrier Tracking Survey from 2013. As a result, we have found that - compared to the carrier tracking responses - the students overestimate both their starting net earnings and their chance to find a job related to their profession.

Megjegyzések:This paper is intended to clarify the phenomenon that lower achieving students tend to evaluate their own academic performance less accurately than those who do better in their studies. Previous studies have found that lower performers generally overestimate while higher performers underestimate their performance. The current study analyses self-assessment behaviour and efficiency among Hungarian higher vocational education students. The data collection took place at the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management at the University of Debrecen. We have 4 hypotheses which are the following: H1: Lower performers generally overestimate their performance while high performers underestimate it. H2: Higher-achieving students evaluate their examination results more accurately than their lower achieving fellows. H2: Higher-achieving students tend to over-assess their examination results less than low-achieving students. H3: Compared to female students, male tend to overestimate their own performance more. We test our Hypothesis 1 with a comparison of the result in the four quantiles (Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4), Hypothesis 2 with a linear regression model, Hypothesis 3 with a binomial logistic regression model, and use a dummy variable (sex) for testing Hypothesis 4. We found that the lowest level of higher education students typically overestimate while the best performers (the best 25 percentage) underestimate their performance, similar to previous empirical studies. Our results also strengthen the empirical evidences from previous studies that showed: higher-achieving students evaluate their performance more accurately than their lower achieving fellows. Furthermore we found that higher-achieving students tend to over-assess their examination results to a lesser degree than low-achieving students. We also analysed the difference between the two genders. Compared to female students, males do not tend to overestimate their own academic performance more. This analysis provides new empirical results for the literature from a sample of Hungarian advanced level vocational training students.

Megjegyzések:The employability of young graduates has been particularly concerned by social researchers in recent years due to the expansion of higher education and career follow-up systems. In this paper we analyze the first job search of young graduates. In recent database (DPR, 2015) is possible to select the responders who searched a job soon after graduation, which was not selectable in earlier databases. However, former analyses can be specified. With linear regression models we identify the graduates' first job search time influencing factors. According to our results, the speed of finding a first job is influenced by the intensity of job search (number of job applications and interviews submitted), performance (study results), acquisition of diploma, and foreign experience. We found, that graduates, who found their first job quickly, are employed congruently to their profession. These research experiences can be useful information for students participating in higher education.
