Megjegyzések:
The structure of the 24F nucleus has been studied at GANIL using the (beta) decay of 24O and the in-beam (gamma)-ray spectroscopy from the fragmentation of 27,28Na, 25,26Ne and 29,30Mg nuclei. Combining these complementary experimental techniques, the level scheme of 24F has been constructed up to 3.6 MeV by means of particle-(gamma) and particle-(gamma)(gamma) coincidence relations. Experimental results are compared to shell-model calculations using the standard USDA and USDB interactions as well as ab initio valence-space Hamiltonians calculated from the in-medium similarity renormalization group based on chiral two- and three-nucleon forces. Both methods reproduce the measured level spacings well, and this close agreement allows unidentified spins and parities to be consistently assigned.

The structure of neutron-rich nitrogen nuclei has been studied by use of neutron removal reaction and inelastic scattering. Mass and charge deformations have been deduced for the first excited state of 21N, which indicates the partial persistence of the N=14 subshell closure in nitrogen isotopes. The spectroscopic information obtained on the structure of 19,21N confirms the results from a previous experiment.

Megjegyzések:
The low-lying level structures of nuclei in the vicinity of 78Ni were investigated using in-beam ?-ray spectroscopy to clarify the nature of the nuclear magic numbers Z=28 and N=50 in systems close to the neutron drip line. Nucleon knockout reactions were employed to populate excited states in 80Zn and 82Zn. A candidate for the 4+1 level in 80Zn was identified at 1979(30) keV, and the lifetime of this state was estimated to be 136+92?67 ps from a line-shape analysis. Moreover, the energy of the 2+1 state in 82Zn is reported to lie at 621(11) keV. The large drop in the 2+1 energy at 82Zn indicates the presence of a significant peak in the E(2+1) systematics at N=50. Furthermore, the E(4+1)/E(2+1) and B(E2;4+1?2+1)/B(E2;2+1?0+g.s.) ratios in 80Zn were deduced to be 1.32(3) and 1.12+80?60, respectively. These results imply that 80Zn can be described in terms of two-proton configurations with a 78Ni core and are consistent with a robust N=50 magic number along the Zn isotopic chain. These observations, therefore, indicate a persistent N=50 shell closure in nuclei far from the line of ? stability, which in turn suggests a doubly magic structure for 78Ni.

116Ru and 118Ru have been studied via ?-delayed ?-ray spectroscopy of nuclei produced in fragmentation reactions at the Radioactive Ion-Beam Factory (RIBF) facility. Level schemes with positive-parity states up to spin J=6 have been constructed. The results have been discussed in terms of the interacting boson model, the algebraic collective model, and total Routhian surfaces. We conclude that the very neutron-rich nuclei still show many features associated with triaxial ?-soft nuclei, represented by the O(6) symmetry, but are approaching a spherical structure, the U(5) symmetry, with increasing neutron number towards the N=82 shell closure. In 118Ru, hints of a shape transition in the ground state have been observed.

The [beta] decay of 129Cd, produced in the relativistic fission of a 238U beam, was experimentally studied at the RIBF facility at the RIKEN Nishina Center. From the ? radiation emitted after the ? decays, a level scheme of 129In was established comprising 31 excited states and 69 ?-ray transitions. The experimentally determined level energies are compared to state-of-the-art shell-model calculations. The half-lives of the two ?-decaying states in 129Cd were deduced and the ? feeding to excited states in 129In were analyzed. It is found that, as in most cases in the Z<50, N?82 region, both decays are dominated by the ?0g7/2??0g9/2 Gamow?Teller transition, although the contribution of first-forbidden transitions cannot be neglected.

The structure of the nucleus 25F was investigated through in-beam ?-ray spectroscopy of the fragmentation of 26Ne and 27,28Na ion beams. Based on the particle-? and particle-?? coincidence data, a level scheme was constructed and compared with shell model and coupled-cluster calculations. Some of the observed states were interpreted as quasi-single-particle states built on top of the closed-shell nucleus 24O, while the others were described as states arising from coupling of a single proton to the 2+ core excitation of 24O.

The one-neutron knock-out reaction 1H(20C,19C?) was studied at RIKEN using the DALI2 array. A Gamma-ray transition was observed at 198(10) keV. Based on the comparison between the experimental production cross section and theoretical predictions, the transition was assigned to the de-excitation of the 3/2+1 state to the ground state.

The neutron-rich, even-even 122,124,126Pd isotopes were studied via in-beam ?-ray spectroscopy at the RIKEN Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory. Excited states at 499(9), 590(11), and 686(17) keV were found in the three isotopes, which we assign to the respective 2+1?0+gs decays. In addition, candidates for the 4+1 states at 1164(20) and 1300(22) keV were observed in 122Pd and 124Pd, respectively. The resulting Ex(2+1) systematics are similar to the Xe (Z=54) isotopic chain and theoretical predictions by the proton-neutron interacting boson model (IBM-2), indicating the magic nature of N=82 in the Pd isotopes.
