Megjegyzések:In this proceeding we report on a recent experiment performed at RIKEN with the EURICA Beta-decay setup. Following a relativistic fission reaction of a 238U beam on a Be target, nuclei in the vicinity of 78Ni have been transported and identified in the BigRIPS and ZeroDegree spectrometers. The EURICA cluster detectors are surrounded by the Si array WAS3ABI, in order to allow beta - gamma coincidence measurements. Additionally, an array of LaBr3 from the FATIMA collaboration has been used for fast-timing measurements. In this proceeding we show results from the half-life measurement of the 1259 keV transition in 70Ni, populatedfollowing two different decay paths. The on-going analysis will result in the measurement of new half-lives and level schemes in several nuclear species.

Megjegyzések:We report on the measurement of the first 2+ and 4+ states of 66Cr and 70,72Fe via in-beam ?-ray spectroscopy. The nuclei of interest were produced by (p,2p) reactions at incident energies of 260 MeV/nucleon. The experiment was performed at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory, RIKEN, using the DALI2 ?-ray detector array and the novel MINOS device, a thick liquid hydrogen target combined with a vertex tracker. A low-energy plateau of 2+1 and 4+1 energies as a function of the neutron number was observed for N?38 and N?40 for even-even Cr and Fe isotopes, respectively. State-of-the-art shell model calculations with a modified Lenzi-Nowacki-Poves-Sieja (LNPS) interaction in the pfg9/2d5/2 valence space reproduce the observations. Interpretation within the shell model shows an extension of the island of inversion at N=40 for more neutron-rich isotopes towards N=50.

Megjegyzések:An experiment studying [beta]-decay properties of neutron-rich nuclei in the vicinity of 78Ni was performed at the RIBF facility in 2012. The half-lives of 20 neutron-rich nuclei in Co-Zn isotopic chains were measured; including five new half-lives of 76Co; 77Co; 79Ni; 80Ni; and 81Cu. These new results extend the systematic study of [beta]-decay half-life beyond 78Ni; and they suggest a doubly magic character of 78Ni.

Megjegyzések:The half-lives of 20 neutron-rich nuclei with Z=27?30 have been measured at the RIBF, including five new half-lives of 76Co(21.7+6.5?4.9?ms), 77Co(13.0+7.2?4.3?ms), 79Ni(43.0+8.6?7.5??ms), 80Ni(23.9+26.0?17.2?ms), and 81Cu(73.2?6.8?ms). In addition, the half-lives of 73-75Co, 74-78Ni, 78-80Cu, and 80-82Zn were determined with higher precision than previous works. Based on these new results, a systematic study of the ?-decay half-lives has been carried out, which suggests a sizable magicity for both the proton number Z=28 and the neutron number N=50 in 78Ni.
