Megjegyzések:Inflammation has different phases: - the first one is causes by increase of vascular permeability resulting in exudation of fluid from blood into the interstitial space; - the second one is causes by the infiltration of leukocytes from the blood into the tissues; - and the third one is causes by granuloma formation. Pain and inflammation are phenomena binding in a very complex way, inflammation being the most important cause of pain. The most important purposes of anti-inflammatory therapy are to diminish the pain and inflammation, and to reduce or even stop the progressing of inflammatory process. The purpose of this presentation is to investigate the effects of one anti-psychotic drug ? Risperidone ? on inflammation and pain. From the numerous methods used for testing acute and subacute inflammation we chose the paw edema in rats (with 0,1 ml of 10 % kaolin suspension). The proliferative phase is measured by methods for testing granuloma formation as cotton wool granuloma. For testing the central analgesic activity of this drug we used the Haffner's tail clip method in rats, and for measuring the peripheral analgesic activity we used the writhing test. We observed that Risperidone has a significant pro-inflammatory effect, having no effect on central analgesia. In the writhing test Risperidone decreased the threshold of sensitivity to painful stimulus
