Megjegyzések:The determination of ear height is an important factor in terms of lodging resistance, lodging, and harvest after all. During our research, we have found that as an effect of plant number increase, ear height increased. The maize hybrids response to the increasing of plant number in a hybrid specific manner. The small plot experiment was set in 2013 at the Látókép Experimental Farm of the Centre for Agricultural and Applied Economic Sciences of the University of Debrecen, on lime-coated chernozem soil in four replications. The ear heights of the maize hybrids were studied at three plant density (50, 70, and 90 thousand plants ha-1) and two row spacing (45 and 76 cm). During the experiment, we have investigated the development of the ear heights of five maize hybrids of different vegetation time and genotype: Sarolta (FAO 290), P 9175 (FAO 330), Reseda/P 37M81 (FAO 360), DKC 4490 (FAO 380) and SY Afinity (FAO 470).

Megjegyzések:The yield and crop safety of maize are influenced by numerous ecological, biological and agrotechnical factors. It is of special importance to study one of the agrotechnical elements, the sowing technology of maize hybrids. We have examined the effects of sowing technology on five maize hybrids of various genotype in a field experiment. The plant densities were 50, 70 and 90 thousand ha-1, while the row distances were 45 and 76 cm. The experiment was set on the Látókép Experimental Farm of the University of Debrecen in 2013. The experiment was set in four replications, on chernozem soil. In the experiment Sarolta, DKC 4014, P 9175, PR 37M81 and P 9494 hybrids were used. According to our experimental results, we have concluded that the increase of the plant density, the yield increased much more at the narrow row spacing. In the average of the hybrids the yield was higher at the 45 cm row spacing and at the plant density was 70 and 90 thousand plant ha-1. In addition to plant density increase, it is necessary to determine the optimal plant density that the most favourable for the certain hybrid under the given conditions. To fulfil this aim, we have determined the optimal plant density corresponding to the maximum yield of the given hybrid, within the given plant density range. The optimal and applied plant densities numbers differ, since the optimal one could only be applied under ideal conditions. Since the agrotechnical actions cannot always be carried out in appropriate quality and one has to adapt to the weather conditions, thus we have determined a plant density range in the case of each hybrid.

Megjegyzések:The small-plot field experiment was set up at the Látókép Field Research Centre of the University of Debrecen, Centre for Agricultural Sciences on a calcareous chernozem soil type. In this experiment the development of yield, leaf area index and relative chlorophyll content of three maize hybrids of different genotypes, namely Sarolta (FAO 290), NK Lucius (FAO 330) and SY Afinity (FAO 470) were studied. Two row spacings (45 and 76 cm) and three plant densities (50, 70 and 90 thousand plants per hectare) were set. Assimilation area of maize hybrids has determining role in yield production; positive correlation can be determined between them. As a result of the application of different row spacings and plant densities yield amount depended on the given crop year. Parallel to the increasing plant density leaf area index increased as well, while relative chlorophyll content decreased. In order to evaluate the studied factors in a complex way, Péter Pepó has introduced the Ph.C. or P-index value that determines the photosynthetic capacity. Strong correlation was found between yield and Ph. C. value in all studied crop years (0.781-0.881**). Photosynthetic capacity values varied between 649 and 1198 in 2013, between 401 and 920 in 2014 while between 206 and 362 in 2015.

Megjegyzések:Our field experiment took place on the test farm of KIT Látókép of University of Debrecen, Applied Economic Sciences, in growing seasons 2012/2013 and 2013/2014. The previous forecrop was grain maize with control, N60+PK and N120+PK fertilizer treatments,with two varieties GK Csillag and Mv Csárdás on chernozem soil, in long-term experiment. According to our scientific results, effect of the cropyear and variety determined the valuesof the leaf area index (LAI) and the yield. In 2013/2014 growing season varieties had muchlarger assimilative surface, which caused increase in leaf area index and in the yield. Bettercropyear increased the natural nutrient utilization capability of GK Csillag and Mv Csárdás. Compared to the previous year, in control treatment we measured 248.0-290 % higher yield and LAI (233-280 %) due to the favourable effect of the crop year. Maximum yield (8.03 tha-1) was measured with N60+PK fertilizer treatment with variety GK Csillag in 2013/2014 cropyear.
