Megjegyzések:In summary, three reagent systems, LiAlH4?AlCl3,BH3?NMe3?AlCl3, and Et3SiH?BF3?Et2O, have been usedfor the reductive cleavage of 4,6-O-benzylidene-type acetals286 of glucoside and galactoside derivatives bearing a 2,3-OBDAprotecting group. Using the LiAlH4?AlCl3 reagentcombination, chemo- and regioselective reduction of the 4,6-acetal and highly efficient formation of the corresponding4-O-ether were observed in all cases.The reactions with BH3?NMe3?AlCl3 in THF also 291showed complete chemoselectivity; the butane diacetal moietiesremained intact, and exclusive cleavage of the 4,6-acetalstook place to give the expected 6-O-ethers with varyingregioselectivity. The reduction of the 4,6-O-(2-naphthyl)-methylene acetals gave the 6-O-NAP ethers exclusively, 296while reduction of the p-methoxybenzylidene derivativeyielded the 4-O- and 6-O-PMB ethers in almost equalamounts. The benzylidene acetals could be transformedinto the 6-O-benzyl ethers with high or complete regioselectivity,depending on the anomeric configuration.
