Megjegyzések:	THE TALE AS SOURCE OF MEMORY AND ACT OF IDENTIFICATION THE INTERPRETATION OF THE TALE LOS COMPADRES FROM LYDIA CABRERA Is it true that the folktale, as the memory of the community, is the knowledge derived from the community's thousand-year-old life experience, therefore is in itself an experience recallable from the past? Is the folktale tradition as the totality of the way of thinking of the rural community: its view of the world and the canon of its ethical norms a kind of source of memory which during centuries functioned as an origin/starting point for the teller so as to reinforce the identity while telling the tale and ? as Derrida highlights ? to make a promise concerning the future? These are the theoretical questions that we intend to examine in the essay and we also try to find some examples to demonstrate them by analysing a tale. In the folktale entitled Los compadres taken from Lydia Cabrera's first book called Black Tales from Cuba, we can find the connection between memory and community, the transmission of the thousand-year-old knowledge and life experience and the construction of the identity both of the community and the transcriber.
