Megjegyzések:Nitrogen and water are among the most important maize (Zea mays L) crop inputs for optimum production. A pot experiment was conducted in the under the green house garden in the 2019 cropping season in the University of Debrecen, Hungary to evaluate the impact of Nitrogen and water stress on the vegetative growth of different maize genotypes. Three nitrogen doses or rates (0, 120kg and 240kg) were applied, where 0 kg rate of nitrogen was the control experiment. The results revealed that nitrogen and enough water supply treatments significantly affected the growth and development of the maize crop at the vegetative stage. Photosynthetic parameter of SPAD was significantly affected at 240kg rate in all the four genotypes used in the experiment. NDVI was significantly affected in the genotype Behilifa (GH) between the doses with the maximum value at 240kg is 0.88. The leaf area index and plant height were significantly affected at the 240kg rate of nitrogen by the three of the genotypes used (DKC, P9903 and Behilifa). Fresh biomass weight was significantly affected in all the genotypes at 240kg rate nitrogen application. The efficient use of nitrogen in this experiment was achieved at 240kg rate with enough supply of water at 60% field capacity in all the cultivars used for this experiment.

Dátum:2019
Megjegyzések:Three maize genotypes research experiment was carried out in the experimental farm of University of Debrecen, Hungary. The genotypes were subjected to two different treatments, (irrigated and non-irrigated) where the irrigated was the control experiment. Physiological parameters (SPAD, LAI, HEIGHT) and grain yield (kg ha-1) were measured and statistically computed. From our results, SPAD, LAI and HEIGHT values were significantly affected by water stress in the three studied genotypes. Grain yield was reduced in two of the studied genotypes (S.Y Zephir and S.Y Chorintos). But no significant difference was notice in the KWS 4484 cultivar. LAI was not affected in the second measurement in the S.Y Chorintos genotype and, plant height did not record any difference in the first measurement in the KWS 4484 cultivar. Our results suggest second experiment to specifically look at the critical stage in the genotypes growth where water stress has the severe effect on the studied genotypes.

Cím:Effects of Water Deficiency on Phosiological Traits, Grain Nutrition Quality and Yield of three Maize (Zea mays L) Genotypes / Salifu Mahama, Fulop Lajos Doka
Dátum:2019
Megjegyzések:Water deficit or drought has an adverse effect on crop production, and it is one of the limiting factors of world food security. A field experiment was conducted on different maize genotypes in University of Debrecen to assess the impact of water deficit on the physiology, grain nutrition and yield of three maize genotypes. The studied treatments were full irrigation and non-irrigation. The irrigated treatment did not significantly affect grain yield and starch content. Grain protein, moisture content SPAD and leaf area index(LAI) were significantly affected by irrigation. There was significant yield difference between the hybrids and grain nutrition quality was also affected by hybrids difference at LSD 1%. For good nutritional quality grain from the studied genotypes, the researchers propose (P 9911) Genotype under similar environmental condition

Megjegyzések:Maize plant response to plant density is an essential agrotechnical factor used for determining grain yield. Three plant densities (60,000 ha-1, 72,500 ha-1, and 85,000 ha-1) were used in this study to ascertain the effect of photosynthetic parameters and grain yield. Results show a significant difference in the photosynthetic parameters (SPAD, NDVI, LAI) and plant height for plant density of 85,000 ha-1. Grain yield and stem diameter were not significantly affected between the different plant densities.

Megjegyzések:Drought stress is an abiotic factor affecting growth and yields of crop plants and one ofthemost important limiting factors for maize growth and productivity in many places across the world. To evaluate the effect of water deficit stress and nutrient levels on yield, yield components and grainnutrient quality levels, this experiment was carried out as factorial based on randomized completeblock design with 3 replications in a biculture field. Two levels of water treatment were applied thus, non-irrigated and irrigated and three levelsof nitrogen treatment (control, 80kg, 120kg) were used.In this study, NDVI, Protein, and moisture content were significantly affected by water stresswhiles Yield, LAI, Protein, starch and moisture content were significantly influenced by nitrogentreatments.
