Megjegyzések:Demographic transformation, characterized by the aging of the population, is causing an increasing problem in developed countries. This change involves a significant increase in the number of chronic diseases, the health damage generated by which causes loss of life years due to deteriorating health and impairs quality of life. Among chronic diseases, the increasing frequency of musculoskeletal disorders has become characteristic of an aging society, which causes the greatest loss of life years in Hungary due to limitations. These problems mean increasing social, economic, and administrative pressure on the population and pose solution challenges for the spa town leaders and health decision-makers. There are several therapies available in the medical and health sciences to prevent and treat musculoskeletal disorders, with increasing emphasis on conservative therapies as the role of health increases. In Hungary, among these procedures, medicinal water treatment services based on natural healing factors available in spa towns play a key role, which is also the basis of medical tourism and part of the health care system. To solve the problems caused by musculoskeletal disorders, it is essential to know the occurrence of the disease and the treatment-use attitude of the patients, mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the main goal of our research is to assist spa towns leaders and health decision-makers in the implementation of medical tourism developments and more optimal patient care. One of the part-aims of our research is to reveal the regional differences of the most common musculoskeletal diseases in Hungary based on secondary data. Our other research-part objective is to determine the impact of socio-demographic characteristics, health status, type of musculoskeletal disease, pain, and commitment to bath medicine care system on the future use of medicinal water treatment in patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Based on our results, we declare that the health status of the Hungarian population in terms of the most frequently occurring locomotor diseases is worst in Central Hungary, the greater part of the Southern Great Plain, and the northeastern part of the country. In terms of territory, we concluded that the incidence of musculoskeletal disorders is relatively low, and moderate inequality in Hungary. It also follows from our results that the indicators measuring regional differences selected can be successfully applied to examine the territorial inequalities of musculoskeletal diseases concerning medical tourism. We also found that the respondents' level of family income, place of residence by region, state of health, the degree of commitment to medicinal water treatment/service was found, furthermore the cost of treatment, and the cost of accommodation /travel, significantly affect the planned use of the medicinal water treatment in the future. Our results promote the implementation of more targeted medical tourism and health industry developments in spa towns.

Megjegyzések:Magyarország számos gyógyító és rekreációs kínálattal rendelkezik a gazdag vízbázisra épülő szolgáltatáskínálatának köszönhetően. Tanulmányunk célja megvizsgálni Magyarországon a különböző típusú fürdők és szolgáltatáskínálatuk változásának trendjeit, továbbá elemezni a hidroterápiás eljárások gyógyászati és rekreációs célú igénybevételi különbségeit a finanszírozás alapján az elmúlt közel egy évtizedben. Eredményeink azt mutatják, hogy a vizsgált időszakban jelentősen emelkedett a fürdők száma, de fürdőtípusonként eltérő mértékben. Legnagyobb mértékben a rekreációs szolgáltatásokat nyújtó fürdők száma emelkedett. A szolgáltatások igénybevételét tekintve a vizsgált időszakban a Nemzeti Egészségbiztosítási Alapkezelő (NEAK) által támogatott kezelések igénybevételének trendje csökkent, míg az önfinanszírozott egészségmegőrző (wellness) rekreációs szolgáltatásoké növekedett. A fürdőszolgáltatások és igénybevételük időbeli változásainak és trendjeinek tudományos megalapozottsággal feltárt új eredményei segítséget nyújthatnak az érintett szakterületek szakemberei és döntéshozói számára a fürdők és szolgáltatáskínálatuk fejlesztéseinek tervezésében.

Megjegyzések:In Hungary, several types of care are available to treat diseases in the health care system. Medicinal water facilities in spa towns with social insurance support are part of this structure. The aim of the research is to explore the spatial inequalities and polarisation of medicinal water facilities with a social insurance support, according to importance, using secondary research methods, based on the data provided by the health care institutions and available at the National Health Insurance Fund of Hungary. The research results show that the spatial polarisation of medicinal water facilities of different importance in Hungary shows significant inequalities. Our results may help the work of decision-makers of medicinal water facilities in spa towns in the post-COVID re-launch of medical tourism. The study is a partial report of a larger study.

Megjegyzések:The aim of the research is to reveal the spatial inequalities of the natural treatment factors in Hungary and the medicinal water institutions built on them, with the help of spatial research methods on the basis of secondary data. Due to the favorable geographical conditions of Central Europe, the Carpathian Basin has a considerable amount of natural resources. With the appreciation of health, in our days they represent significant value because they are becoming increasingly important in tourist services aimed at maintaining and restoring health. In Hungary, there are outstanding opportunities for this in health tourism, which provides a wide range of medical services, including medical tourism based on natural treatment factors. In order to achieve the set research goal, we used the range of the data set (range-ratio), the dispersion range (range), the relative range (relative range) and the dual measure (Éltető?Frigyes-index) as spatial inequality test methods for the geographically based examination of Hungary's natural treatment factors and the system of medicinal water institutions. The research results show that the spatial polarisation of natural treatment factors and the medicinal water institutions based on them show significant inequalities in Hungary. It has been proved that the development of the counties is outstanding in terms of medicinal waters and medicinal bath, and the spatial difference is also the lowest in the case of these treatment factors.

Megjegyzések:A magyarországi rekreációs fürdőszolgáltatások igénybevétele tudományos megalapozottsággal kevésbé ismert, ezért a kutatás célja megismerni a Kehida-Termál gyógyl és élményfürdő magyar turistáinak körében a rekreációs fürdőszolgáltatások igénybevételélét. A kvantitatív kutatás során, a kérdőíves válaszok adati kereszttábla-elemzéssel kerültek feltárásra. Az adatokból tudományos megalapozottsággal kerültek igazolásra a fürdőrészleget látogatók szocio-demográfiai jellemzői és az élményfürdő-szolgáltatások igénybevétel-gyakorisága közötti összefüggések.

Megjegyzések:Thermal and medicinal waters have been something attractive for humans for centuries. In the Carpathian hollow, the culture of spa bathing is over two thousand years old. Even Ancient Romans used medicinal wells and the spa life bloomed during the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Health tourism within the more general notion of tourism began to develop in the first half of the 19th century and it was based on natural resources, thermal waters foremost, based on longer cures and health treatments. Spas slowly became populated and offered recovery from various ailments with the development of medicine, which made them favorite for citizens of places such as Lipik. In the second half of the 19th century, Lipik water was the subject of tests for numerous investigators. Based on research, they established a beneficial combination of the elements of the water in Lipik, as well as its medicinal properties brought on by the degree of warmth and physical characteristics of the spring, which is unique in Europe. The water from Lipik was firstly used against bone and blood ailments i.e. gout. Medicinal water and salts were used in the treatment. Those were supplemented by physical therapy. Apart from the special medicinal supplements of Lipik, the medicinal baths and treatments by water drinking, additional medicinal supplements were used, such as spas with carbon dioxide, inhalators, massages, diet kitchens, and drugstores. All of these established the success of this place in the context of spa tourism.

Megjegyzések:Az egészségmegőrzéssel kapcsolatos turisztikai utazások világszerte egyre inkább felértékelődtek. Az elmúlt időszakban az egészség felértékelődése által a turizmus felismerte a gyógyvízre alapozott gyógyturizmus fontosságát, ezért egyre növekszik az érdeklődés a gyógyfürdő-szolgáltatásokat igénybe vevők jobb megismerése iránt. A magyarországi gyógyvízre alapozott gyógyturisztikai szolgáltatások növelésének lehetőségeihez, illetve a piaci igényekhez történő alkalmazkodás akkor lehetséges, ha pontosan ismert a fogyasztók gondolkodása, motivációja, attitűdje. Primer kutatással megvizsgálásra került a középkorú magyar középosztálybeli fürdőturisták szocio-demográfiai jellemzői közül a gyógyvízzel kezelhető betegség és a fürdők szolgáltatás-minőségével kapcsolatos elégedettség közötti összefüggések. Megállapítást nyert, hogy a fürdőturisták fürdőszolgáltatások minőségével kapcsolatos elégedettségét az egészségi állapotuk nem befolyásolja.
