Cím:The evolution of cyber-bullying during the COVID-19 pandemics in Hungarian schools in Slovakia / Z. Árki; T. Berta; G. Kiss
Dátum:2022
Megjegyzések:Within the framework of the cross-border project STOP BULLYING-NO BULLYING (HU-SK Interreg V-A Slovakia Hungary Cross Border Cooperation Programme), we conducted a comprehensive questionnaire survey among parents of 6 Hungarian primary schools participating in the project on the topic of bullying. The primary aim of the questionnaire survey was to assess the parents' perception of the current bullying situation in their children's school and to develop a suitable training and mentoring process to provide support. Due to the heightened pandemic situation in Slovakia, school closures have taken place and the upper level in the secondary schools has switched to an online education format. Now that the pandemic situation is evolving, online education is more prevalent, and children are spending more time in the online space. This situation has given rise to new forms of online bullying that parents are less familiar with. In our article we report on the evaluation of the part of our questionnaire that mainly sought to find out how parents are aware of the different forms of online bullying and how serious they consider them to be. We also assessed the extent to which parents believe that this form of bullying is present in their schools and what solutions they know to prevent online bullying. We are writing about the training and mentoring process as well. Ensuring adequate online security is an increasingly pressing issue, both in schools and at home. We also look at online safety issues and possible solutions in this article.

Cím:Innovative assessment tools and the use of the project method in teaching sciences and mathematics in primary schools / Z. Árki; T. Berta; L. Jaruska
Dátum:2022
Megjegyzések:The results of various studies, as well as our own previous research and surveys of teachers, show that the interest and enthusiasm for science among students in primary school gradually fades in upper school. One of the main challenges of modern education is to use methods and tools in teaching that can help to keep students interested. In our research, we focused on the possibilities of using non-traditional teaching methods, in particular group work and cooperative teaching in mathematics and science lessons, and in particular the use of the project method. In addition to the use of innovative teaching methods, it is also of obvious importance to measure the effectiveness of learning. In addition to traditional assessment methods, innovative assessment methods have also proved to be appropriate. This article deals with the role of formative assessment in the teaching of science subjects in lower secondary schools using the project method. One of the main aims of formative assessment is to help pupils learn more effectively, to stimulate interest and to point out ways of making the learning process more effective. The other is to contribute to the development of children's individual learning styles and self-awareness by developing pupils' self-reflection. In this article, we present concrete project ideas and the possibilities of using formative assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of education.

Cím:The role of evaluation and innovative tools in traditional and cooperative education in the teaching of sciences and mathematics / Árki Z.; Berta T.; Nagy M.
Dátum:2021
Megjegyzések:The Complex Instruction Programme inclusive teaching method was introduced into the education system of 2 Hungarian schools in Slovakia. During the process teachers have been interviewed in order to evaluate the strengths and the disadvantages of the CIP method in practice. The importance of the evaluation process has been emphasized by the teachers in CIP methodology and in traditional teaching and learning processes as well. Based on the experience gained in cooperative education, it became apparent that there is a need to measure the effectiveness of learning. In addition to traditional evaluation methods, innovative evaluation methods have also proved to be justified. Traditionally used assessment methods measure the learning effectiveness of our students up to a particular point in time. This is called "assessment of learning". These summative assessments are conducted after a unit or certain time period to determine how much learning has taken place. While assessment of learning is important if we are to assign grades to students and provide accountability, teachers also need to focus more on assessment of learning. These types of assessments - formative assessments - are more sensitive to learning during the learning process. The formative assessment examples are feature of the modern classroom. They provide important information about what students understand and what they do not, they help to gather information about students' learning and use it to make decisions to guide and adapt further teaching to students' needs and abilities. This article presents various tools for the application of formative assessment methods in the teaching natural science objectives and mathematics and describes the experiences and recommendations from the use of selected assessment tools in school practice.

Cím:Why it is so hard to choose a good open problem for cooperative work in primary mathematics education? / T. Berta; Z. Árki
Dátum:2021
Megjegyzések:Due to its complexity the teaching of problem solving in mathematics at primary level has always been a hard task. Closely related to this is the development of problem-thinking ability, asking good questions and developing divergent thinking. In the interviews with teachers the difficulty in finding a good open task has been repeatedly occurring as a common problem not solely in cooperative work but generally in problem solving teaching at primary level. Our research focuses on the application of group work in mathematics lessons as one of the possibilities of developing divergent thinking and solving open problems. The most recurrent questions include how to design a proper task, what should be the level of difficulty of the tasks, how to address the proper age and target group and what should be the mathematical content of the tasks. Our work based on interviews with teachers depicts the various aspects of open problem selection and its applicability in mathematics teaching at primary level in elementary schools. We present a methodological conduct for teachers how to select, compile, design or modify proper open problems for their students. The publication presents answers to questions like: what makes a problem to be considered open, how to create an open problem in different ways at various levels of difficulty and how to adapt them for group work.
