Megjegyzések:Modeling and simulating the traffic flow in large urban road networks are important tasks. A mathematically rigorous stochastic model proposed earlier is based on the synthesis of the graph and Markov chain theories. In this model, the transition probability matrix describes the traffic dynamics and its unique stationary distribution approximates the proportion of the vehicles at the segments of the road network. In this paper various Markov models are studied and a simulation method is presented for generating random traffic trajectories on a road network based on the two-dimensional stationary distribution of the models. In a case study we apply our method to the central region of the city of Debrecen by using the road network data from the OpenStreetMap project which is available publicly.

Cím:Benchmarking Cognitive Abilities of the Brain with the Event of Losing the Character in Computer Games / Norbert Bátfai, Dávid Papp, Renátó Besenczi, Gergő Bogacsovics, Dávid Veres
Dátum:2019
ISSN:1224-869X 2065-9601
Megjegyzések:Most computer game players have experienced the sensation of temporarily losing their character in a given gameplay situation when they cannot control the character, simply because they temporarily cannot see it. The main reasons for this sensation may be due to the interplay of the following factors: (1) the visual complexity of the game is unexpectedly increased compared with the previous time period as more and more game objects and effects are rendered on the display; (2) and/or the game is lagging; (3) and finally, it is also possible that the players don't have sufficient experience with controlling the character. This paper focuses on the first reason. We have developed a benchmark program which allows its user to experience the sensation of losing character. While the user can still control the character quite well, the benchmark program will increase the visual complexity of the display. Conversely, if the user loses the character then the program will decrease the complexity until the user finds the character again, and so on. The complexity is measured based on the number of changed pixels between two consecutive display images. Our measurements show that the average of bit per second values of losing and finding pairs describes the user well. The final goal of this research is to further develop our benchmark to a standard psychological test.

ISSN:1844-9689 2343-8908
Megjegyzések:Samu is a disembodied developmental robotic experiment that is intended to resolve the apparent conflict between the embodied and the disembodied approaches to Developmental Robotics, and, as a utopian goal, to become the base of a chatterbot agent which will be able to talk and read in natural language like humans do. In this paper, we outline the design of Samu's mental development process. There are two different levels of development of Samu: one is the level of mental organs, which are small AI algorithms, the other is the chatbot Samu that will use mental organs for solving a given subtask. In this work, we focus on mental organs, and we show that on this level, in certain experiments, Samu is able to acquire knowledge. In addition, we introduce our aspect of robopsychology, which is the development and fine-tuning process of agents which are capable of autonomous mental development. The main goal of this paper is threefold: first, to embed the concept of Samu into Developmental Robotics; second, to present a child development-inspired approach to develop computational mental organs; third, to support the software design of a further prototype of Samu chatbot for testing knowledge sharing between two Samu-type chatbots.

Dátum:2017
ISSN:1587-8694

A jelen előkészítésben bemutatjuk a mérés alapötletét, a mérést végző, általunk kifejlesztett nyílt forráskódú szoftvert és a mérést végző e-sport-szakértők aggregált tapasztalatait.

Megjegyzések:Klasszikus értelmezésben a hacker a kifinomult problémákat kifinomultan kezelni képes szakértő. A mi ilyen formális keretünk a Debreceni Egyetem Atlétikai Clubjának (DEAC) nemrégiben megalakított e-sport szakosztálya, a cikkben bemutatott DEAC-Hackers. In the classic sense of the word, a hacker is an expert who can solve sophisticated problems in a sophisticated way. In most cases, a hacker is a programmer, but hacker attitudes can be demonstrated by an artist, an inventor, a scientist or even an athlete. In this paper, we show how an esport player can be a hacker. A hacker is self-educated in nature, but his learning process can be aided with formal tools. One of our formal tools is the recently founded DEAC-Hackers, the esport department of the University of Debrecen Athletic Club, which is also introduced in this article.

Megjegyzések:In this paper, we propose a general framework for sport science simulations that we refer to as Simulation Oriented Architecture (SimOA). As a concrete implementation of the framework we present a collection of sport science simulators that we developed in the experimental industrial research anddevelopment project called "Football Avatar" for simulating soccer matches. The practical goal of performing such simulations is to help soccer teams with providing an effective tool for supporting tactical decision making. The paper also establishes a solid theoretical foundation for performing sport science simulations introducing the concept of avatars.

Megjegyzések:FootballAvatar is an experimental industrial research and development subproject of the project 'SziMe3D?3D technological innovation in tourism, education and sport'. FootballAvatar aims to produce a novel decision support information system based on simulations for professional football clubs. This paper establishes the notion of football avatar in the sense of information technology, though it has a strong mathematical background. However, we would like to apply it in several analytic and simulation software tools developed in our project. The main question is that how this notion could be implemented and used in several software environments including C++, Java, and R,or from an architectural viewpoint, on desktops, smart phones, and tablets, while the kinds of uses and the base definitions have often changed during the R&D phases. This changing of the precise interpretation of the notion of "football avatar" has a direct impact on selecting the software process model. For this reason, we have developed an own software methodology called Competitive Programming, which will be presented in detail, as a main result in the present paper.
