Megjegyzések:To present cases of coexisting sarcoidosis and Sjogren's syndrome (SS). METHODS: We analyzed the clinical data of our 464 patients with SS with a clinical picture suggesting coexisting SS and sarcoidosis. We followed them for several years. RESULTS: We found 5 patients with coexisting SS and sarcoidosis. In 3 patients, pure sarcoidosis could mimic SS. CONCLUSION: In our experience, the frequency of sarcoidosis in SS is much higher than in the general population. One of the European criteria is that before the diagnosis of SS is made, the presence of sarcoidosis must be excluded. From our experience of 5 cases we determined that the 2 diseases can coexist, which indicates the value of these criteria.

Megjegyzések:Authors describe a case of a patient with amyloidosis presenting the clinical picture of Sjögren's syndrome. In their case, the amyloidosis involved the salivary-and lacrimal glands and joints. Considering these, the possibility of Sjögren's syndrome was considered. The diagnosis could be confirmed by minor salivary gland- and skin biopsy. The aim of this work was to discuss the common clinical spectrum of the two diseases and their differential diagnostic aspects, based on their typical case, and relevant from the literature.

Megjegyzések:In this study the authors analyse the peripheral vasculitis syndrome in Sjögren's disease, based on the retrospective evaluation of their 447 patients with the disease. Clinical symptoms of vasculitis could be observed in 11,6 per cent of the patients. Among these patients, cutaneous vasculitis was found in 29 cases, systemic vasculitis with myositis, peripheral motor and mixed neuropathy in 33 and various vasculitic manifestations were observed in a significant number of cases. In general, vasculitis was diagnosed 4-5 years after the onset of Sjögren's disease. Purpura was the most frequent clinical manifestation. Anti-SSA and anti-SSB autoantibodies, characteristic of Sjögren's syndrome were detected in high titer in the sera of 100 per cent of patients with vasculitis.
