Megjegyzések:	KA-HYB hybrid sows and male castrates of 100 kg liveweight were scannedfirst in vivo using spiral X-ray computer tomograph. After slaughterfrom the 30 pigs all internal organs were removed, the head was left onthe carcass. After storage for 24 hours at 4 degrees C whole carcasseswere scanned again in the same positions as in vivo. The average numberof volumetric scans taken per pig was 110, the total scanning time 120seconds per animal. After scanning the carcasses were dissected.Prediction equations were developed from in vivo and post mortemvolumetric image data and dissection results.Coefficients of determination (R-2) for carcass composition based onspiral CAT volumetric imaging in vivo and post mortem respectivelywere: ham muscle kg 0.92 and 0.94, ham with bones kg: 0.91 and 0.96,M.1.d. muscle kg: 0.96 and 0.93, M.1.d. with bone kg, 0.91 and 0.93total muscles (M.1.d. muscle + Psoas major + ham + bacon side) kg: 0.90and 0.95, total subcutaneous fat + skin on the whole carcass kg: 0.92and 0.95.
