Cím:BSSE-Free Description of the Formamide Dimers / A. Bende, Á. Vibók, G. J. Halász, S. Suhai
Dátum:2001
ISSN:0020-7608
Megjegyzések:The different configurations (linear, zig?zag, and cyclic) of formamide dimers have been studied at the level of both Hartree-Fock (HF) and second order Møller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2). The widely used a posteriori Boys-Bernardi ?counterpoise" (CP) correction scheme has been compared with our a priori methods utilizing the ?chemical Hamiltonian approach" (CHA). The appropriate interaction energies have been calculated in six different basis sets (6?31G, 6?31G**, DZV, DZP, TZV, and cc?pVDZ).

Cím:Theoretical study of hydrogen bonds between acetylene and selected proton donor systems / A. Bende, Á. Vibók, G. J. Halász, S. Suhai
Dátum:2005
ISSN:0020-7608
Megjegyzések:The equilibrium structures, the binding energies, and the second-order energy components of a series of hydrogen-bonded complexes involving acetylene are studied. The strength of the binding energy of the selected systems (HF...HCCH, HCl . . .HCCH, HCN...HCCH, and HCCH...HCCH) was different, ranging from a very weak interaction to a strong interaction. Calculations have been carried out at both the Hartree?Fock and correlated (second-order Mller?Plesset perturbation theory) levels of theory, using several different basis sets [6-31G(d,p), 6-311G(d,p), 631G (d,p), 6-311G (d,p), 6-31 G(2d,2p) and 6-311 G(2d,2p)]. The widely used a posteriori Boys?Bernardi counterpoise (CP) correction scheme has been compared with the a priori CHA/CE, CHA?MP2, and CHA?PT2 methods, using the chemical Hamiltonian approach (CHA). The results show that at both levels the CP and the appropriate CHA results are very close to each other. Only the monomer-based CHAPT2 theory gives slightly overcorrected results, re?ecting that the charge transfer and polarization effects are not taken into account in this method up to second order. We have also applied our earlier developed energy decomposition scheme in order to decompose the second-order energy contribution into different physically meaningful components. The results show that at large and intermediate intermolecular distances, the second-order intermolecular contribution is almost equal to the sum of different physically meaningful components (e.g., polarization, charge transfer, dispersion), while at shorter distances the slightly strong overlap effects fairly disturb this simple additivity.

Cím:Ab initio study of the ammonia-ammonia dimer: BSSE-free structures and intermolecular harmonic vibrational frequencies / A. Bende, Á. Vibók, G. J. Halász, S. Suhai
Dátum:2004
ISSN:0020-7608
Megjegyzések:The influence of basis set superposition error (BSSE) in optimized geometries, force constants and intermolecular harmonic vibrational frequencies of the ammonia?ammonia dimer have been studied both at the Hartree?Fock and correlated (second-order Mller?Plesset perturbation theory) levels of theory using several different basis sets as (6-31G, 6-311G, 6-31 G, 6-311 G, 6-31G(d,p), 6-311G(d,p), 6-31 G(d,p) 6-311 G(d,p) and 6-311 G(2d,2p)). The widely used a posteriori Boys?Bernardi "counterpoise" (CP) correction scheme has been compared with the a priori method utilizing the chemical Hamiltonian approach (CHA). The results show that practically there is no difference between these two methods, so the a priori CHA scheme can be considered as an ultimate solution of the BSSE problem. It is also concluded that the BSSE influence is very significant, so removing this effect is very important.

Cím:On the line shape of the total rovibronic absorption in laser-dressed diatomic molecules / Gábor J. Halász, Tamás Szidarovszky, Ágnes Vibók
Dátum:2021
ISSN:0020-7608
Megjegyzések:Recently, the rovibronic absorption and emission spectra of diatomic molecules dressed by medium-intensity laser fields have been discussed. By computing the total absorption probability as a function of dressing wavelength an asymmetric line shape has been obtained strongly resembling to the well-known Fano line shape. Applying two-state analytical and three-state numerical models the shape of the total absorp- tion probability function is explained. Further confirmation of the model based results is provided by high resolution accurate numerical computations using large number of basis functions.

Cím:Toward a BSSE-free description of strongly interacting systems / G. J. Halász, Á. Vibók, S. Suhai, I. Mayer
Dátum:2002
ISSN:0020-7608
Megjegyzések:The so-colled "chemical Hamiltonian approach"(CHA) gives perfect a priori BSSE-free description of weak intermolecular interactions, but has been found inappropriate for describing strong interactions taking place with in a molecule. Here, we propose a simple modi?cation of the CHA/F BSSE-free SCF method, which retains all the good properties of the CHA/F method for the intermolecular case but can be used also to describe covalent and ionic interactions. This is vital for calculating whole potential surfaces of chemical reactions in a consistent manner, which was found impossible by using the a posteriori counterpoise correction method. Model calculations are presented for covalent and ionic chemical bonds and for a rare gas?proton system.
