Megjegyzések:The formation of light-induced conical intersections (LICIs) between electronic states of diatomic molecules has been thoroughly investigated over the past decade. In the case of running laser waves, the rotational, vibrational, and electronic motions couple via the LICI giving rise to strong nonadiabatic phenomena. In contrast to natural conical intersections (CIs) which are given by nature and hard to manipulate, the characteristics of LICIs are easily modified by the parameters of the laser field. The internuclear position of the created LICI is determined by the laser energy, while the angular position is given by the orientation of the transition dipole moment (TDM) with respect to the molecular axis. In the present communication, using MgH+ as a showcase example, we exploit the strong impact of the orientation of the TDMs exerted on the light-induced nonadiabatic dynamics. Comparing the photodissociations induced by parallel or perpendicular transitions, a clear signature of the created LICIs is revealed in the angular distribution of the photofragments.

Cím:Molecular vibrational trapping revisited : a case study with D2+ / Péter Badankó, Gábor J. Halász, Ágnes Vibók
Dátum:2016
ISSN:2045-2322
Megjegyzések:The present theoretical study is concerned with the vibrational trapping or bond hardening, which is a well-known phenomenon predicted by a dressed state representation of small molecules like and in an intense laser field. This phenomenon is associated with a condition where the energy of the light induced, vibrational level coincides with one of the vibrational levels on the field-free potential curve, which at the same time maximizes the wave function overlap between these two levels. One-dimensional numerical simulations were performed to investigate this phenomenon in a more quantitative way than has been done previously by calculating the photodissociation probability of for a wide range of photon energy. The obtained results undoubtedly show that the nodal structure of the field-free vibrational wave functions plays a decisive role in the vibrational trapping, in addition to the current understanding of this phenomenon.

Cím:Electronic Diabatic Framework:? Restrictions Due to Quantization of the Nonadiabatic Coupling Matrix / Baer, M.; Vértesi, T.; Halász, G. J.; Vibók, Á.
Dátum:2004
ISSN:1089-5639
Megjegyzések:In this article, two issues related to the size of the electronic diabatic potential energy matrix are treated. (a) We frequently mention the fact that the dimension of a diabatic matrix obtained by a unitary transformation from the adiabatic framework is determined by the way the nonadiabatic coupling matrix ©o breaks up into blocks. In this article, we prove for the first time that the size of the diabatic matrix as obtained in a direct way is determined in the same way. In other words, if the dimension of the above-mentioned decoupled block is N, then the dimension of any diabatic potential energy matrix with physical relevance has to be N as well, regardless of how it was derived. This number, N, is also equal to the number of coupled diabatic- Schro?dinger equations to be solved. (b) The second issue is, consequently, related to the actual required number of coupled Schro?dinger equations to be solved to obtain a well-converged solution. Starting with the earlier introduced number N, we show that this number can be reduced, and in fact, it is most likely equal to the number of energetically open adiabatic states (for a given energy). While doing that, we rigorously derived the relevant diabatic potential matrix for this reduced case. We also worked out in detail an example related to a three-state case and derived the relevant 2 2 diabatic potential matrix.

Megjegyzések:The different configurations (linear, zig?zag, and cyclic) of formamide dimers have been studied at the level of both Hartree-Fock (HF) and second order Møller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2). The widely used a posteriori Boys-Bernardi ?counterpoise" (CP) correction scheme has been compared with our a priori methods utilizing the ?chemical Hamiltonian approach" (CHA). The appropriate interaction energies have been calculated in six different basis sets (6?31G, 6?31G**, DZV, DZP, TZV, and cc?pVDZ).

Cím:Theoretical study of hydrogen bonds between acetylene and selected proton donor systems / A. Bende, Á. Vibók, G. J. Halász, S. Suhai
Dátum:2005
ISSN:0020-7608
Megjegyzések:The equilibrium structures, the binding energies, and the second-order energy components of a series of hydrogen-bonded complexes involving acetylene are studied. The strength of the binding energy of the selected systems (HF...HCCH, HCl . . .HCCH, HCN...HCCH, and HCCH...HCCH) was different, ranging from a very weak interaction to a strong interaction. Calculations have been carried out at both the Hartree?Fock and correlated (second-order Mller?Plesset perturbation theory) levels of theory, using several different basis sets [6-31G(d,p), 6-311G(d,p), 631G (d,p), 6-311G (d,p), 6-31 G(2d,2p) and 6-311 G(2d,2p)]. The widely used a posteriori Boys?Bernardi counterpoise (CP) correction scheme has been compared with the a priori CHA/CE, CHA?MP2, and CHA?PT2 methods, using the chemical Hamiltonian approach (CHA). The results show that at both levels the CP and the appropriate CHA results are very close to each other. Only the monomer-based CHAPT2 theory gives slightly overcorrected results, re?ecting that the charge transfer and polarization effects are not taken into account in this method up to second order. We have also applied our earlier developed energy decomposition scheme in order to decompose the second-order energy contribution into different physically meaningful components. The results show that at large and intermediate intermolecular distances, the second-order intermolecular contribution is almost equal to the sum of different physically meaningful components (e.g., polarization, charge transfer, dispersion), while at shorter distances the slightly strong overlap effects fairly disturb this simple additivity.

Cím:Ab initio study of the ammonia-ammonia dimer: BSSE-free structures and intermolecular harmonic vibrational frequencies / A. Bende, Á. Vibók, G. J. Halász, S. Suhai
Dátum:2004
ISSN:0020-7608
Megjegyzések:The influence of basis set superposition error (BSSE) in optimized geometries, force constants and intermolecular harmonic vibrational frequencies of the ammonia?ammonia dimer have been studied both at the Hartree?Fock and correlated (second-order Mller?Plesset perturbation theory) levels of theory using several different basis sets as (6-31G, 6-311G, 6-31 G, 6-311 G, 6-31G(d,p), 6-311G(d,p), 6-31 G(d,p) 6-311 G(d,p) and 6-311 G(2d,2p)). The widely used a posteriori Boys?Bernardi "counterpoise" (CP) correction scheme has been compared with the a priori method utilizing the chemical Hamiltonian approach (CHA). The results show that practically there is no difference between these two methods, so the a priori CHA scheme can be considered as an ultimate solution of the BSSE problem. It is also concluded that the BSSE influence is very significant, so removing this effect is very important.
