Cím:An algorithm using Walsh transformation for compressing typeset documents / Attila Fazekas, András Hajdu
Dátum:1999
Megjegyzések:In this paper the authors present an algorithm which can be used for compressing text documents, principally. The algorithm allows some loss of infor- mation, but the original digital image is compressed in a rather e±cient way, so the result compressed data structure is suitable to be transmitted through some kind of telecommunication channel. The original document is assumed not to contain sophis- ticated typographical details, but text, and some simple graphics. The compression algorithm tries to recognize the text parts of the document and the result of a char- acter recognition process is stored, instead of the graphic representation of the text. This character recognition part is based on Walsh transformation. The algorithm was tested in several cases, and proved itself to be pretty e±cient and reliable for simple documents.

Cím:Lattice of distances based on 3D-neighbourhood sequences / Fazekas Attila
Dátum:1999
Megjegyzések:In this paper we give a natural ordering relation between distances basedon 3D-neighbourhood sequences. We prove that this ordering induces a completecompact distributive lattice over the set of 3D-neighbourhood sequences.

Cím:Fingerprint identification based on dermatological features / A. Fazekas, G. Fazekas
Dátum:2002
Megjegyzések:One of the long-standing problems of practice is the personal identification, namely ascertaining personal identification. Several methods have been adapted for solving this problem during history, from seal ring, through signature to photo. Fingerprint, as a possibility for identification is widely known from the last century. From the sixties when computers became widely used, the possibility of computerizing of identification was brought up.In this paper we explain a fingerprint identifying system used in automatic personal identifying systems. The identification is based on dermatological characteristics, namely the unique pattern of ridges of fingers. Usually two levels of pattern are distinguished, global and local patterns In this system we improved both the global and the local characteristics using a identification. We use the direction matrix representing orientation of ridges as global characteristics and the method of identification of bifurcations as local characteristics.

Cím:Skeletonization on quadtree represented images / Fazekas Attila, Sánta István
Dátum:2000
Megjegyzések:The most frequent method to represent a digital image is the pixel-pixel type representation. Because of this, most image processing algorithms operate on pixel-pixel type images. Accordingly few years, claim arised to develop image processing algorithms, which operate on some special representation known from the literature. In this paper, we describe the theoretical background, which is required to apply a special image processing procedure - the skeletonization - to the quadtree representation.

Cím:New optical tracking methods for robot cars / Attila Fazekas
Dátum:1998
Megjegyzések:In this paper new methods are proposed for intelligent optical tracking of robot cars, the important tools of CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing), which can be an alternative of former tracking methods. These methods, are partly based on the new adaptation of some basic picture processing methods known in the literature (Hough transformation, Walsh transformation), and the method described last is based on a special 2+1D thinning algorithm.
