Dátum:2020
ISSN:1402-9251
Megjegyzések:We consider the general Liénard-type equation . This equation naturally admits the Lie symmetry . We completely characterize when this equation admits another Lie symmetry, and give an easily verifiable condition for this on the functions f0, . . . , fn. Moreover, we give an equivalent characterization of this condition. Similar results have already been obtained previously in the cases n = 1 or n = 2. That is, this paper handles all remaining cases except for n = 3.

Cím:An invariant variational principle for canonical flows on Lie groups / Zoltán Muzsnay
Dátum:2005
ISSN:0022-2488
Megjegyzések:In this paper we examine the existence of Lie groups, whose canonical geodesic flows are variational with respect to a left-invariant regular -- but not necessarily quadratic (i.e.~metric) -- Lagrange function. We give effective necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of an invariant variational principle generating the canonical flow. With these results, taken in conjunction with the classification of Lie algebras, we solve the inverse problem of invariant Lagrangian dynamics in dimensions up to four.
