Megjegyzések:Modeling and simulating the traffic flow in large urban road networks are important tasks. A mathematically rigorous stochastic model proposed earlier is based on the synthesis of the graph and Markov chain theories. In this model, the transition probability matrix describes the traffic dynamics and its unique stationary distribution approximates the proportion of the vehicles at the segments of the road network. In this paper various Markov models are studied and a simulation method is presented for generating random traffic trajectories on a road network based on the two-dimensional stationary distribution of the models. In a case study we apply our method to the central region of the city of Debrecen by using the road network data from the OpenStreetMap project which is available publicly.

Megjegyzések:In this paper, we propose a general framework for sport science simulations that we refer to as Simulation Oriented Architecture (SimOA). As a concrete implementation of the framework we present a collection of sport science simulators that we developed in the experimental industrial research anddevelopment project called "Football Avatar" for simulating soccer matches. The practical goal of performing such simulations is to help soccer teams with providing an effective tool for supporting tactical decision making. The paper also establishes a solid theoretical foundation for performing sport science simulations introducing the concept of avatars.

Megjegyzések:FootballAvatar is an experimental industrial research and development subproject of the project 'SziMe3D?3D technological innovation in tourism, education and sport'. FootballAvatar aims to produce a novel decision support information system based on simulations for professional football clubs. This paper establishes the notion of football avatar in the sense of information technology, though it has a strong mathematical background. However, we would like to apply it in several analytic and simulation software tools developed in our project. The main question is that how this notion could be implemented and used in several software environments including C++, Java, and R,or from an architectural viewpoint, on desktops, smart phones, and tablets, while the kinds of uses and the base definitions have often changed during the R&D phases. This changing of the precise interpretation of the notion of "football avatar" has a direct impact on selecting the software process model. For this reason, we have developed an own software methodology called Competitive Programming, which will be presented in detail, as a main result in the present paper.

Megjegyzések:Modeling and simulating movement of vehicles in established transportation infrastructures, especially in large urban road networks is an important task. It helps in understanding and handling traffic problems, optimizing traffic regulations and adapting the traffic management in real time for unexpected disaster events. A mathematically rigorous stochastic model that can be used for traffic analysis was proposed earlier by other researchers which is based on an interplay between graph and Markov chain theories. This model provides a transition probability matrix which describes the traffic's dynamic with its unique stationary distribution of the vehicles on the road network. In this paper, a new parametrization is presented for this model by introducing the concept of two-dimensional stationary distribution which can handle the traffic's dynamic together with the vehicles' distribution. In addition, the weighted least squares estimation method is applied for estimating this new parameter matrix using trajectory data. In a case study, we apply our method on the Taxi Trajectory Prediction dataset and road network data from the OpenStreetMap project, both available publicly. To test our approach, we have implemented the proposed model in software. We have run simulations in medium and large scales and both the model and estimation procedure, based on artificial and real datasets, have been proved satisfactory and superior to the frequency based maximum likelihood method. In a real application, we have unfolded a stationary distribution on the map graph of Porto, based on the dataset. The approach described here combines techniques which, when used together to analyze traffic on large road networks, has not previously been reported.

Dátum:2015
Megjegyzések:Smart city applications are expected to play an important role in city traffic management. Smart traffic solutions seem inevitable to manage expected growths in road loads. In this paper, we present a combination of hardware and software which allows us to simulate traffic situations. The measurement occurs in real-time with a designated hardware component assembled into cars. The simulation itself is implemented within the Robocar World Championship system, or more precisely within the Robocar City Emulator. We will show that this system is suitable to create such a simulation based on crowdsensed data.

Megjegyzések:Traffic flows gain more and more attention in transportation engineering. One possible means of understanding the traffic flow in a city is to gather sequences of traffic position data, called link flows, measured by vehicle-mounted sensors, which are increasingly available by various providers for municipalities. Link flows can be used for planning of operation and maintenance, and for forecasting of future traffic events. In this paper, we investigate how the microscopic Markov traffic model can be used to predict traffic congestion on the roads between different nodes or regions of a city. The proposed model is evaluated in a numerical study by using real traffic data recorded in the city of Porto. The results show that the model developed for simulation is of limited use for predicting the traffic between different areas of a city.

Megjegyzések:Smart cities offer services to their inhabitants which makeeveryday life easier beyond providing a feedback channel tothe city administration. For instance, a live timetable service for public transportation or real-time traffic jam notification can increase the efficiency of travel planning substantially. Traditionally, the implementation of these smart city services require the deployment of some costly sensing and tracking infrastructure. As an alternative, the crowd of inhabitants can be involved in data collection via their mobile devices. This emerging paradigm is called mobile crowd-sensing or participatory sensing. In this paper, we present our generic framework built upon XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol) for mobile participatory sensing based smart city applications. After giving a short description of this framework we show three use-case smart city application scenarios, namely a live transit feed service, a soccer intelligence agency service and a smart campus application, which are currently under development on top of our framework.
